Blue pill or red pill = 675 or 920

...better, because they are closed chamber heads. I think they'd be great from what I read! Here's the deal, though: I just picked up these 675 heads from a FABO member last Sunday (in exchange for a bottle of Jack Daniels). They were rebuilt 5,000 miles ago with new stock valves and springs...

318 head porting for the average joe

I know that some people talk about terrible the stock casting is on these old heads. While porting my 675 heads I have seen how bad the stock ports really are and well... they bad and they ugly. Some ports were casted off center and the casting slag was horrendous.

Any gains adding 1.6 rockers to stock 273?

Here open chamber 318 675 heads doubt 273 is much different. It peaks a 184 cfm @ .350 lift, but within 11 cfm difference between .300-.800 lift.

Blue pill or red pill = 675 or 920

If your existing heads are working fine, leave them alone and drive it. If they need changing, I'd just install the 675's and go. I'd wait until I wanted to do a complete build to change to the 920's It may be that installing them will boost the compression ratio up to where you have to run high...

[WANTED] 273 Commando dress up parts

You'll have to decide whether you want to go with the '64-5 (315 casting) heads, the '66-7 (920 casting) heads, or later 675 casting heads. That will let us know which intake to look for. For looks, you want the '65 valve covers? C.A.P or non-C.A.P. air cleaner? Numbers matching dual point...

agree. if you do need to swap the heads at some point I'd look at upgrading the cam if it's a stock 318 cam.

Blue pill or red pill = 675 or 920

920 heads are great. But, I would have them tanked and magnefluxed first. If good, milled .020, mill the intake side .019, probably need to replace the exhaust valves (stainless steel), clean up the bowls, get a competition valve job, brass freeze plugs, and redo the guides, might as well add...

Blue pill or red pill = 675 or 920

bro, those 920's look tore up from the floor up. if you wanna keep it on a beer budget, snap on those 675's and ship it. there's no telling what could be wrong with those 920's-- janky guides, wasted seats, bad deck, cracked, and on and on. i wouldn't run those without a hot tank, mag check...

Looks nicer than the porting I did on my 675 heads lol. That guide tail sure does take a long time to grind and shape. Very nice.

Mopar Stage VI 6 heads questions

Ok I’m in the planning phase for my big block combo and I have been doing research on the stage 6 heads I’m going to use. ...just not in an A-body. The first 318/4 was in 1978. The '66-7 273 intake will be a bolt-on for the earlier 920 (66-7 273 and LA318) and 675 heads ('68-72 318). Same intake and exhaust port sizes with no LH exhaust manifold issues. If you're going to use the 920 casting heads, those are closed...

[FOR SALE] HP Head Liquidation.......................$150 pair

Those would be the '66-7 heads if you're looking for the closed chamber with the later intake bolts. 920 is the casting number. the '68-up heads are open chamber and are 675 castings. The 64-5 heads are 315 castings.

How much HP and what do you think it will run.

Are the heads ported ? If you have have that big of cam in the 280s at .050 I'd guess you will hit 660-700 hp is range at 6300 rpm. Just for a reference I have 264 @ .050 in my 470 and make 675 HP at 5800 rpm

    Roller tip rockers?

Alright guys and gals, probably abit of a dumb question but I can't seem to find any definitive answers online. I'm currently building a 318 with a set of milled 360 596 heads, mostly because it's cheaper for me to get the 360 heads milled down to desired cc than fitting larger valves in my old...

Man I hope it makes that. I was going to have him port them to max wedge size but the money got tight. I might get them done when I go to a bigger cam later if I ever do.

    273 Commando Engine Build

When I rebuilt my 273 I used the Egge high compression pistons. I measured the ratio and ended up with 9.6/1 even though I milled the stock heads .030. I run 93 octane with no detonation. Timing is picky and the advance doesn't come in too quick. It runs well and will get almost 20 mpg if I...
