Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

Interesting. This is much more complicated than the LRE emissions stickers I've seen. It's looking more and more like the LREs didn't come with a smog pump. Never thought about it that way but it makes total sense.

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

I'll never understand the business model of risking losing a customer for life and any other customer that they warn about your shop, just so you can try and eek out an extra hundred bucks.

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

Interesting. I wonder what the emissions stickers looked like on that W150? Had an annoying conversation with a smog shop yesterday. Asked them if they had a book that would let me know what emissions equipment was required so I could come in prepared. He said no but bring it in and they'll...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

I have a pension through the state but you can guarantee I'll be out of here as soon as I'm retired. This state talks about climate change like it's an impending doom. They are nearly completing a huge interstate job where they're adding more lanes at a huge pinch point that brings traffic to...

    NOT LEGENDARY BUT..................

I don't have every Mopar seat upholstery memorized but I certainly can't tell that those aren't factory. Whoever did those seats did a great job.

    Mopar Dealer "attaboy"

Had a similar deal where I was looking for hardware bins. Akro-mils was selling these high quality bins for $30 a piece. On Amazon I found them for $30 but instead of 1, it was for 20 of them. I figured it was a mistake and I'd either be notified or only sent one. I wound up getting a message...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

You guys are awesome. I wish there were some detailed pics of all this funky smog stuff. It's almost impossible to find since nearly everyone has already ripped it all off. I'm having a difficult time picturing the whole air tube to manifold connection since I can't seem to find any pictures of...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

Thanks guys. Do you think that the catalytic converters would be on borrowed time without an air pump? I've read that they need clean air in order to not burn up or clog. Seems weird that Mopar would be forced to add a catalytic converter but leave off the air pump since it's not like the air...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

I'm getting serious about buying one in CA and I know CA has/had stricter emissions than the rest of the states but I can't find out for the life of me whether or not an air pump was ever on one of these things. I read some articles that stated that Mopar was able to use some loopholes in...

    Classic Air Glove Box Fix

That's the best modified box I've seen yet. Well done. The glove box they send with the unit obviously doesn't fit at all. I don't even know what they were thinking with that. There's ill fitting and then there's the classic auto air glove box which is in it's own league. Did you tackle the...

How to fix ring and gear pattern?

This is a 489 case with a new 3.73 ring and pinion and crush sleeve eliminator. Is this pattern saying that I need to add a pinion shim to increase the pinion height? If so, I don't think there's any way I can remove the pinion bearing without destroying it. Is it possible to just add a shim...

    Refinish/paint PVC seat backs

I used SEM adhesion promoter and color coat on a console and kick panels and they came out perfect. Just make sure the plastic is very clean and do a bunch of light coats. If you try to go medium/heavy on your coats, you might wind up with some areas that look glossier than others. I did about...

    Radio antenna

I wouldn't move it if it were me. I'd rather come up with a different way to listen to music, like a hidden bluetooth receiver, than drill a large hole in a spot where it doesn't belong on one of these cars. First try grounding the antenna. Run some temporary alligator clip leads from the...

    Radio antenna

I would think that you'd have issues with your antenna working well with fiberglass fenders. Antennas like a large, flat, smooth ground plane to operate at their peak. Fortunately for us, we're only receiving and not transmitting so you really don't need your antenna operating at its peak to be...

How long did it take you to rebuild your

Unless you just don't want to do it, I wouldn't pay anyone to do this job. It's not difficult and doesn't require any special skills. It takes some time if you want to ensure everything is clean and nice when you put it back in but if I was going to pay someone to do a 4-5 hour job, it would be...

WHERE DID U PUT UR AFTERMARKET STEREO & SPEAKERS

Just remember when it comes to modern stereo anything being visible in a classic car.....it'll look completely out of date in 5-10 years. My preference is to have everything hidden or at least only hack into things that are easily fixed. You'd be surprised at how good a cheap bluetooth...

    trunk spare tire well

I cosign with the above. Welding in a spare tire well is a lot of work for a second rate looking job when you're done. You might pay a couple hundred extra for the whole floor but the amount of time it takes to install it will be hours and hours less, while it will look a million times better.

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

Thanks my radio didn't work anyway so I didn't feel too bad about cutting out the back corner of it. I needed a good inch and a half clearance.

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

Has anyone had trouble installing the factory radio in with the Classic Auto Air box being in the way? The thumbwheel radio on my 68 Barracuda has zero chance of fitting in there.

AM radio to Bluetooth.. or other ideas.

I attempted this with a thumbwheel radio and couldn't get it to work. The little nylon gears for the thumbwheels just weren't quite strong enough to turn the knob on the bluetooth module consistently. It's definitely a doable job for a knob radio like the one you've got.

    [Found!] Firewall wire clip

Does anyone have one of these wire clips that clip onto the pinch weld on the firewall? I believe they may be a 67-68 only type deal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Help with Heater & AC Control Assembly

Yeah I'm not sure what you're talking about here but there's no dial. The CAA kit has you swap out the fan switch for their switch and then it has you modify and hook up the potentiometer sliding mechanisms to the mode lever and temp lever. I've only ever seen dial controllers on aftermarket...

    1968 barracuda starter cable issues

It looks like the 68 Valiant schematic is wired the way you describe. Only thing that seems off is the second battery cable sized wire connecting the starter solenoid to the starter. That's really just an internal connection.
