    Chalky coating

Agreed, I don't have any dull spots on the collectors so I'll try it out on my other set

    Chalky coating

Try it on a small spot of the collectors that are hidden under the car before doing the whole thing. These are mine and it sucks when you drop a grand on a set for this to happen…. Next set is going to be custom stainless, like the bottoms pic.

Okay, thank you ! That stove top cleaner is a great idea, some of those products work amazingly

    Chalky coating

I wouldn't use steel wool or 3m/scotchbrite. Use an alumina-containing polish like mothers. Cleaners made for glass stove tops are a more liquid version and should also work very well.

I have 2 sets of coated headers, I'll give it a try on my hooker fender well headers. I read on the web and saw photos, I'm not sure if the mother's is the key or if maybe a cleaner wax would work. The other thing I just thought of will be trying a clay bar

    340 Intake Manifold Casting# 2531915 - Upgrade

66 and 67 take the same intake. 66 had a 273 and so did the 67. Without looking back through 2 pages of posts, what engine is he running?

    Any Pertronix experts here?

I always run a 1.5 ohm and the ballast resistor on the Pertonix modules. I use to design electronics like this for the defense industry. I can come up with no reason adding extra resistance does anything but good things for the life of the module.

    408 ignition curver advice

As the cam duration goes up you need to crank up the compression or you loose cranking and dynamic compression which is what keeps the lower RPM torque numbers up. With that cam I’m guessing without doing the math it needs another point of compression to really keep any low RPM torque. Cam...

    340 Intake Manifold Casting# 2531915 - Upgrade

I am dragging this thread up from the grave only because I got the year wrong when I made the first post. John's car is a 1966 Signet, not a 1967. Still trying to find him a Mopar M1 Dual Plane since he insist it have a choke well. He likes the choke on the AVS. (Cranky Old Guys) Tom

    RIP Jerry West

Jerry West was one of the first new players of the LA Lakers when the moved from Minneapolis. The Lakers name came from the Minnesota Lakers, "the land of ten thousand lakes " is Minnesota's motto. Way before Chamberlain, Goodrich etc.. and they played beside him. West came to LA when they...

Has anyone had any problems installing this TCI trans shield.

Which blanket did you get ? Also what headers do you have?

Has anyone had any problems installing this TCI trans shield.

Thanks-Boosted-: I just ordered a trans blanket and I’ll use the TCI flexplate shield. And I’ll return the the TCI trans shield. With me having to raise the engine a little over 1/2 inch I sure hope I have enough room to do so without having to cut my trans tunnel.
