Pertronix Igniter, the base product, installation instructions don't say anything about heat transfer paste? Mallory Unilite supplies the paste and instruct you to smear it on maring surface. But since Mallory discontinued rotor for my Unilite its a paper weight now.

Usually during cranking batteries go from 12.5 to 11 volts or so. So your not going to nor should you expect a full 12 volts at coil during cranking. Have you hooked a volt meter to plus side of coil and negative side of battery while cranking? Also what are volts at battery during cranking...

With those heads and 4 inch crank I don't think they can flow enough air to make power over 6,000 rpm. My two cents.

I would think single plain intake is a better match for that combo and intended use.

This whole timing cover fits a 360 along with 273/318/340 is all new to me. Maybe they assume you just put a thick bead of RTV in there and throw the end gaskets away? Or maybe we should feel lucky a new part is available in the first place?

I bought a reproduction heat shield 15-20 years or so back still bolted onto my 340. They were reproducing them and they were readily available years back. Maybe the stamps wore out? Just like 340 manifold were reproduced then stopped. Don't know but I think people will pay up for...

I run autolite copper plugs in my stroker. I would have to pull one to get number cause I think they been in there like 10 years. I highly recommend autolite coppers.

Compared to the run of the mill Felpro complete gasket kit head gaskets which are usually .054 thick. Most ppl buy complete gasket kit and use those thick head gaskets.
