Is a deeper pan worth it?

Now to find someone who has one in stock, I think maybe mopar stopped making theirs cause nobody seems to have one.

Is a deeper pan worth it?

They make them for the 727. I always ran a deep one. As long as you have clearance.

    build thread for jamies dart..:)

we have 3.23 gears in the dart. nice efficient 9.5" converter too.. 680 vac secondary carb. once we start driving it i'm sure i'll be able to tweak the carb more.. all i've done so far is take a little jet out of the primarys.

Is a deeper pan worth it?

I have a 727 not the 904. But it sounds like the answer is pretty clear cut, get the deeper one.

Sold my 73 Dart Swinger…had her for 11 years!!!

I know that I don't know what the selling price was you air head, I said earlier that I never seen the car on Facebook, so by that I wouldn't know what the asking price was either. Why don't you try and pay attention to what you read and use your head for something other than a hat rack.

Transmission mount with engine and mid plate.

The only thing nice about a mid plate is you can install the engine in the car and start and run it without a transmission technically turning your car into a break in stand.

It certainly looks good though qkcuda!! Cheers!!

How old are you and how long have you raced

I bought my house in late 1984 and got married in 85 or 86. She wanted to try racing so a buddy of mine was building a big block 68 barracuda and had a purple 1970 duster. He needed a converter and a bunch of parts so we traded parts and cash for his roller duster. My buddy built me a street...

340/420 90psi Oil Pressure During Prime

Good point on the cold oil and I have cam lube and pre lube grease all thru this engine. I forgot to mention that the 90psi was on both 1 and 2 with my drill. I kept switching back and forth between the two gears as both of my batteries were losing their charge. I am going to try to get the...

Transmission mount with engine and mid plate.

I used a steel front mount of a style that was popular 50 years ago (Hurst), and a steel mid plate. Add in a trans crossmember and mount. Sure didn't need a limiter, it wasn't going anywhere.
  17. 33IMP

Is a deeper pan worth it?

I put a deeper trans pan on EVERYTHING. (Especially if it has a deeper engine oil pan. Headers or a deep engine pan will hit long before a trans pan!) More fluid=cooler fluid=longer better trans life.

    NOS Booster, use or rebuild?

Best not to take a chance on brakes.. Diaphrams have surely dried out, and will crack in very short order.. If wanting to reuse just request the "SHELL" be left untouched and a rebuild only kit installed.

    Nicks Garage 383 build

I watch(short stints), but never really thought about it until someone mentioned it here. The most I ever see him actually do is change/tweak carbs/timing and run the dyno. Never actually doing any building, unless I'm missing something? Like I said I don't watch a lot.

CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

I guess my point would be there are things that can be done but they pretty much need to be addressed BEFORE the builder starts. And they should be looked at. Just because the dyno spits out a number…say 20 hp improvement doesn’t mean that’s the end of it. Most dyno’s don’t measure an...

    NOS Booster, use or rebuild?

Just apply vacuume to the vacuum port. Draw up to 15 inches and let it sit. If it holds that's a good sign. As for the other parts inside I suspect grease would be dried up, rubber might be dried out etc. worst case is you have to unbolt it and send it out.

CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

I guess that was the point I'm trying to make, any time we talk about heads, carbs etc.. Hysteric's and others will come in about atomization vaporization etc... But generally people are going by what carb cam heads cr cid etc.. Gonna give me the powerband I want not which one is possibly gonna...

    speedometer cable pinion seal leak

I also took some pictures of the seal in the pinion and it was hard getting a good pic. Thats how I installed it the first time, but after still leaking I had my doubts. Lube has to be getting thru the cable housing assembly. I ordered a new cable. Thanks again for the help.

The 999 pans add an extra quart and a drain plug. Deep 904 transmission pan?

Transmission mount with engine and mid plate.

I think that you should have engine limiters with a front plate and mid plate .

Is a deeper pan worth it?

Iirc Someone recently mentioned that newer 999 or 998 pans were an inch or maybe 2 deeper that the 60s 904 pans and the filter comes with the needed extension. Do the research, don't just trust my memory.
