The above. I think the big thing is translating the wiring your new harness has AT THE CLUSTER connector to the Ralley dash. The connector(s) may not even be the same. the manuals, generally, do not detail the cluster inner workings. But if you can post clear shots of the clusters...

Also the oil is cold and if you used a pre lube grease on the bearings they will be pretty well "sealed" at that point. And what Rusty was saying with drill motor speed. The drill RPM is equal to the engine running at 2x that RPM.

For modifying the tunnel area where the overdrive is said to make contact, my plan is to use a convex dimpling tool on my air hammer. I figure that should do a good job of slowly stretching the metal where needed rather than trying to beat it into submission with a big hammer. We shall see! I...

Yeah, you can watch it in real time. You can see the puddle get used up and then how long it takes to get the puddle established again. The biggest tell is when the plugs look lean and the O2 and exhaust ports look pig fat rich. You know you are just blowing fuel right through the engine...
