    340 6-pack cam specs?

Howdy gurus. I could use some help trying to figure out a cam. It's available through a local guy and is clearly a purple small block cam. The box says it's a "Mr. Six Pack Grind - stock" from 1970. It's brand new in the box but the box is from Engle not Mopar. There is one number on the front...

    340 cam

Is there a cam company that will grind a 340 cam to exact factory specs? I've looked but what I've found were close, I'm probably not looking in the right place. I'm researching on building a car for pure stock drag racing and the rules say that stock parts are mandatory except for the pistons.

Yes- before the 340 even existed- lmao! Special top secret “skunkworks” kind of stuff. Originally developed for the Chrysler small block in the marine / tractor market. That cam shaft was even in the Apollo rocket and went to the moon and back. Hahahahahah.

    Carb recommendations for my 340

Searching for a Mopar Mechanic near Chicago"

I'm no expert but lots of changes. Isn't that cam a little long on duration? Cam timing is important. Did the 73 340 have 2.02 valves? Asking for myself as well. Stock 73 340 is a low compression engine. Stock 73 340 didn't have a square bore carb did it? A friend of mine bought a new 73 Dart...

    Cam breakin question

In the near future I plan on swapping out 273 for 340. Exhaust will be upgraded eventually, but in the meantime for breakin can I use the factory 273 manifolds on the 340? Foresee any issues? Thanks Steve

    1972 340 testing by Nick

Yep, The description for this motor reads like an early 340, except for the porting and mystery cam

    very mild 360 build.

I’ve always heard and thought of that particular cam as the upgraded 340 cam since it holds close to the stock valve lift but just has increased duration and by good bit. Lift is the only close area that the cam is in. The LSA is a 114 vs 110 and the duration picks up for an extra 13*’s @.050...

360 HP Confusion. History of this motor?

"72 smogger"?? The '68 Manual trans. cam was a one-year only cam. After that all the 340 and 360 performance engines had cams loosely based on the 340 automatic cam- through the years part numbers changed and some specs were tweeked to aid in emission compliance, but were all closely based on...

    What cam can i use?

Hey out there. I have a 360 with 340 pistions and the compression is to high. Needs 108 octane not to ping. Is there a cam i can use to lower the compression. 484 mopar cam in it now. Heads are from mopar in 1989, with rough port job from mopar and 2.02 valves. Do i really have to change...

    How much HP...again

I agree, but a 750 cfm carburetor is all a 340 needs in this combo. 800 was overkill for a stock 340. imo

    very mild 360 build.

The 340 auto cam was used. That's what Karl has said for years. @krazykuda and the Mopar Performance engine book stated that as well. It was supposed to have W2's as well. Little Red Express Cam Specs 268/276/44 .429/.444
