340 Oil Priming Question First Start

Alright, here's what the oiling holes look like on the shaft..... When viewing the assembly from the front of the engine, the hole with the banana groove is pointing slightly towards the outboard side of the engine since it is not centered. The banana groove is especially important here with...

    Where to go next?

I was fortunate enough to be on the beach for the very last 3 day weekend the entire beach was open for camping. Campers and trailers all the way to Guadalupe. Using the Porta-potties was a challenge  the kids on their 3-wheelers were having great fun racing around them, whether they were...

    1973 360

I used to race a 75’ 360 in a Demon years back. Earlier ones had core issues. Anyhow- flat top pistons and build the cam for the exhaust side. They need more exhaust valve open time. 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. Nothing special. Early 80’s I was getting over 400hp and like 439ftlbs of...

    [WANTED] Stabilizer bar bracket

I hope Dick can help you out. I have fond memories of that old guy and buying parts there. Yeah you and I don't live far apart but I can't do that non rural living. Too many rules and this is the F'n USA...your neighbors shouldn't be able to have a say in your life.

A closer look at the parts book makes me think it's not a separate part though it can be separated. That parts book can be confusing sometime.

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

Well.. on mine i had to actually cut a pipe and move it.... If you can dent it and clear the coupler that might just be the way. it won't look great BUT they did dyno tests and found denting them didn't do **** to hurt power.. weird it's that far off

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

No. That's about how high it's raised in those photos based on my experiment with shims last night. I found the photos I thought were lost - I was looking at the wrong end of the folder list. I hope these show how wrong it is, leading to my pessimism about this being a "scoot it over an...

    Small Upper ball joint adaptors

I've been considering them too. My question is will they become "stuck" on the ball joint stud or inside the spindle if I would need to replace the joint or swap to the bigger ball joint at a later point.

    [WANTED] Single windage tray bolt

Those are junk. Try posting a want ad and what you would offer for them. You may have more luck. There are two style 340 and 318-360. They are getting to be very hard to find in good condition. I haven't found any one reproducing them. We use what is here on customer engines. Once they...

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

273 banana groove shafts. It’s pretty easy to duplicate the groove with a dremel and a thin cutting disk. Might be easier if you don’t have the tools to buy a set of shafts. They come up for sale quite often.

    [WANTED] Stabilizer bar bracket

I'd kill to find a yard in my area. I'm astonished sometimes at the lack of big swap meets etc. in the Chicago and suburban area. All the yards around here seem to destroy these older cars. Sad, really. I will look into the one you mentioned.
