Correct - it is NOT a numbers matching motor. That is why I mentioned the date.

Both seals came to me with the clips inside the bag, not attached to the rubber. You just press them in. The Classic clips were poor fitting, and needed to be "persuaded" to attach to the hood. The Steele clips went in with ease.

I have a '70 Duster 340 with rallye dash but tach is not working. I think the car was converted to electronic ignition at some point, and wonder if that is the reason the tach won't function? Previous owner installed tach under dash in front of shift lever. He must have done that for a reason.

Bingo... no part number, so obviously not original. I do have the hole at the bottom of frame where overflow tube exits on drivers side however. I guess it's normal not to have original after all these years. Thanks.

4spdragtop... Thanks for the info. Looking at your pics, your overflow hose exits on the opposite side that mine does, and there is no place to attach any clips on the side of my rad. So, I don't believe the '70 used these clips.

Are these clips used for 1970 Duster rads too? If so, I've looked and can't find where to purchase. Any ideas?

My bumper is 1 1/2" tall. Yes, they do look to be wider, but I feel the problem is with the height, not width.
