the Amp didn't last very long. ------------------------------------------- I had to ship it back, for warranty, on my dime IIRC. But they fixed it and shipped it back on their dime. While it was away, I reinstalled my Orange box. When the Jacob's got back, I installed it, side-by-side, just...

Which Super coil? the 14001 is for standard ignition systems not CDI. This is designed for an input voltage of 12 to 15 volts, switched by points or a magnetic trigger. The CDI systems need a specific Coil/E-core coil, to deal with the 525 volts being input to it in near-instantaneous...

    Factory high stall converter

my 904-2800 was rated for a slanty. It stalls a lil higher behind my stock 140 psi, 318 but I gotta tell ya, it's just right.. It stalls slightly different with every gear I run it, highest with 2.76s and lowest with 4.30s, but not by much cuz the stock-cam 318 seems to make about the same...

Poll: Do traction bars help out Mopar leaf springs or not

Back in hi-school, 1970, I bought a slightly used 1970 Swinger 340/4-speed/3.55s . We had, nearby, a brand new roadway over a dam, with a beautiful launchpad, lol, long enough that this Dart would lay two beautiful stripes on, for two full gears, using those E70-14 PolyGlass donuts. I knew right...

I'm thinking I put too small a cam in my 360 Magnum...

@Brooks James One of my friends thought he had a hot 340 . His car is almost like mine, a 68, 4-speed street-Barracuda, except his is an iron-headed 340, has a slightly bigger cam, a 2x4 tunnel ram, SS springs, and borrowed 4.30 gears (mine). It looks and sounds, pretty intimidating. My car is...

@Brooks James "Thanks, my springs are also the Hughes 1110" IIRC, the springs on my 367 are also Hughes 1110s, circa 2004. And 5003 lifters, set at 1/2 turn preload. and the cam is HE3038AL .549/.571 @ 1.6 adjustable-arms purchased from Mopar I shimmed mine up a lil. This set-up goes to 7200...

...also installed those problem solvers and got IIRC ~7 degrees castor on one side and maybe 6.5 on the other at Zero camber. By the time I got to 3/4* camber She was down to around 3* castor. So I gave back some camber to get some castor. I mighta ended up around 3.5* castor at or just under...

As to ring gaps yes, the Hypers gotta be right. I installed mine by the book , and had nothing but heat troubles for about ten weeks. and Every time I shut her off I was in for a 10>15 minute wait, before the starter could wind her up again. I tried everything but couldn't get to the bottom of...

No sir, stock 1968 arms. But I had to clip the fenders at the bottom front, about an inch wide and an inch and a half tall. I made the trims a lil bigger than they needed to be, cuz I drive a lil crazy sometimes. lol. Not all four wheel are always on the ground and sometimes none are.

Exactly; without traction aide, those will be roasting still at the Eighth mile., probably even on just motor, lol. Try to keep it straight.......... I've been running a 276/286/110 Hydro with .549/571 lift, on the street, since 2004. with OOTB Edelbrocks, that thing is still pulling at 7000...

    Compression

I wonder if some of you guys mighta dropped the ball on this one. How many 9.5 engines can you actually jump to 11.5 "with no other changes"? I know OP didn't say, but if an SBM, 11.5 has the potential to quickly run the pressure up near to 200 psi; Which I have run BTW, and it was fantastic...

Low Dollar 318 Grand Finale Exit !!

save yourself some money; the Wallace says your Duster at 3300pounds is making 216.64hp, to make 14.95ET: and best ET is predicted to be 14.44. Best ET usually involves SuperStock suspension. which usually means, opening up your wallet really wide. But you know, it's only a calculator, so...

    Slow 1/8 with 74 440 dart

...IMO, the engine is just plain weak. IMO, This is further supported by; A [email protected] cam on a 108LCA, that may be in at around 106 for an Ica of 70*, that is still making 150 psi cranking cylinder pressure; seems pretty normal; therefore, Cam timing is Not something I'd be thinking about just...

2-door Scamps and Valiants, are likely the lightest of the post-1967 A-bodies. and 67>69 Barracuda fastbacks are about the heaviest. Well, maybe not including the 318 Swinger fat-boys, loaded up with everything in the catalog.

Engines with lack bottom end power?

Doggy is my opinion based on my experience. all of these, below, are in stock configuration and calculated at 1000ft elevation As the Wallace calculator has calculated; the 225 comes in at V/P of 87 the 8.0 273 comes in at .....97 the 8.0 318LA ...........is at 113 the 8.0 360LA ...........is at...

...of advertised duration. Assuming it's a hydraulic roller, the acceleration ramps of those can be pretty stinking long. Typically it might be 53* less at advertised than at .050 and that would make her a 210+53=263 advertised. Lets call it a 262/272/112, cuz that is a common size. Now lets...

Engines with lack bottom end power?

well lets look at the numbers a D78-14 is about 24.8 tall A 225/70-15 is about 27.4 This represents a change in torque multiplication to .905 the 2.93s compared to the 2.71s is a loss to 0.925 So together, the loss is .905 x .925= a loss to ~84% lets look at the change in rpm. With the first...

Engines with lack bottom end power?

Before I would start changing your specific engine, I would put an accelerometer on the windshield, and measure/plot it's current power-curve.The Go-ProSS is a great tool, but there are much much cheaper methods.

...of overlap, 28 more than the stock 340 cam, so that's a lot of street overlap; more typical is 55>60.. Chrysler must have figured out that 44* was already not good with log manifolds, and so gave 340 cars special exhaust system considerations. and that is also partly why the 340 cam was on a...

Engines with lack bottom end power?

Maybe so but, per the factory literature a 318 in 69 was rated 230hp@4400IIRC, (which is only 193 ftlbs torque) and 340 ftlbs at 2400 rpm : whereas the 340 didn't get to 340 ftlbs until 3200, and peak power of 275@5500 translates to 356 ftlbs. Engines do not make horsepower. Engines make torque...
