    349cui build up

Hi Michael, I am still having the components to build a street friendly performance engine. So I don´t want to buy a lot of new stuff. I drive a lot of "German Autobahn" :D and so I am happy with my 3.23 - 3.55 gear. But the main problem will be the cast pistons. The crower cam will make...

Last time I ran a comp dual energy 275. At this point there were no valve reliefs in the pistons. A friend of mine rebuild my new 727, but at the first kick down the trans don't shift, so I spin to 7000rpm. The hydr. valve train collaps and now little notches are in the pistons. For...

With the 1.6 rockers and the comp cam I will get [email protected]". Will this set up work with the 2500stall and a street friendly 3.55 rear?

The low comp truck pistons are stock cast, no hyper pistons. I checked the whole internet and couldn't found a 318 .06" over low comp Pisten in hypereutectic. @360moparjunkie - your comment stay in my mind. Maybe you are right. I am still having a nice set of conecting rods, so I only have...

Correct I ran this set up last year, until a head gasket blow up. Cam was a 275 dual energy. with the iron parts, I got a 14.6 sec. The transmisson was a 904 with /6 converter and in the back worked a 3.23 without posi. Trans slipped real bad, so I hope of better times with the new cam and...

    273 crank in a 318

Yesterday I checked the total piston ring weight at the local speed shop. the rings are having a weight of 44,40g. all weights together we are having 795g. I found an old, used 318 std piston In my workshop. it is having a total weight of 800g, including the burned engine dirt. it seams to me...

    273 crank in a 318

You are right, balancing is the better way. But in Germany it costs about 600$ to balance an engine. That is a lot of money :-x The 318 will spin maximum 5000 RPM. I think the factory balancing is ok for this job. I checked the 273piston weight in the past at another job. But I just checked...

    273 crank in a 318

I have already machined the centering in the crank for the ´68 & up torque converter. I just need the weight for the 273 2bbl pistons to match the old factory balancing. When I am installing the 318 pistons, maybe I have to machine the pistons to the 273 2bbl spezification????

    273 crank in a 318

Hi together, I am building an engine for a friend. It will be a 318 .03" over. I am having a nice looking forget crankshaft from a 1964 273 2bbl and will install it into the 318 block. I will install Sealed Power cast pistons and don ´t know the correct weight for a nice ballance in...

rate this stuff for add some horses on a 318

I am thinking some 1.88" intake and 1.6" exhaust valves would be fine plus a good bowl job. And a 625AVS with a 1" single plane spacer. Maybe remove the dividing wall in the intake or just break the edges under the spacer. The rest sounds really nice!
