I did the 5speed from Keisler, it was very important to dial in the bellhousing to the pilot bearing or bushing to .005 or less. just to let you know from my mistakes make sure there is plenty of room in the upper crossmember in case you have to remove the trans. just my 2cents O72D

had 70 camero in high school,put a fresh rebuild in it .So POPs wants to take it for a drive. after about a hour he cames back with a couple of bent valves. says to me'' ISN"T THAT THE WAY YOU DROVE MY CARS'' all i could do was start taking the motor back out. I love my POPs for teaching...

The lifters are harder than the cam, but the lifters need to rotate in the bores, if they don't rotate or over heat thats when the lifter / cam goes bad. O72D

same deal happen to me on a new 408. Had to do a totle rebuild,all new bearings, polish crank, boil block , new rings, new solid cam and lifters, new oil pump used two cans of redline zinc additive. good to go now I use redline 20-50 works good for me O72D
