Thanks, There is a FABO post from years ago that advised you can use a thin body side molding (from a parts store) on the top plate to surround the boot. To be able to screw down the boot, I used deep threaded fasteners that, are held in place with (expensive) two part 3M body structural adhesive.

A Hurst a body console shifter can be used. Thanks

FYI, the 904 convertor fit is depedent on the front pump/input shaft spline count. I learned Pre 1968 spline count is different than post 1968. You maybe installing a convertor built for a small input shaft in a large input trans. Try counting the splines on the convertor and the input shaft to...
