Mine came like that too, though not as bad. Check your lifters as a few of mine are going to need a good cleaning. My dad looked at it and said it should clean up with some wd-40 and a rag and if that doesn't get it a piece of super fine crocus cloth should.

The 73 frames dont have springs on the seatback frame and the 71 do so if you put 71 foam on a 73 frame it just kind of floats there and there isnt anything to attach the cover to. I dont know about 73 duster seats but 73 cuda have a "spring system" molded into the foam and the foam was thicker...

70-71 springs are in the seat frame 73 springs are molded into the foam and the frame has no springs on the back just the bottom and the groves and patterns vary depending on the model it came from
