1965 Candy Canes and Hood trim

Gents, I have a set of candy canes and hood trim that i bought years ago for my project that i no longer have. They are in good condition compared to what you normally find, which they do need a bit of work to be nice. Nothing major, some dings and polishing. $200.00 for all three pieces...

    Hot Ballast Resistor

I believe the resistor is one that was listed for a mid 70's duster from a local auto parts store. I was kind of wondering about the coil myself, I'll try another coil and see what happens. Thanks for the idea's Chuck! I'll keep you updated.

    Hot Ballast Resistor

Well, not to argue with you, but I don't believe the resistor should get hot enough to burn you. This thing was hot enough to burn up itself (the Element) in my opinion. But I've never noticed how hot they get normally. What's involved with switching to the newer style regulator? Oh, and I...

    Hot Ballast Resistor

Gents, I just got my car running again and seem to have an electrical gremlin! Sometimes I have spark and sometimes I don't! I originally thought i had a bad ground on the ignition box, but I've taken care of that and still have a problem. The other day I went for a short drive, stopped at a...

    Pics of my new Dart

WooHoo! The bigger cam crowd wins! I think you made the right choice! Enjoy!

    summit cam selection

I would go with the larger one! I've run a stock 340 cam in a 318 with great results! and I actually have that K6901 in a low compression 360 currently. I believe it would be a good 318 cam.

    273 pulleys and brackets on a 360

I recently did the same thing, The 273 stuff works fine. The only thing you'll notice is you can't use all the bolts on the bottom pulley, the pulley will center up fine on the balancer, there's just one hole that won't line up. Also there is one less hole in the block on the 360 for the front...

    Wheels

The Keystones look sweet! I was leaning towrds those to begin with because I had them on my other 65 back in high school. But that pick of them on a white car sealed the deal! I do agree with Lee, we should get a post going with pics of early A's. :salute:

    1965 DartCharger

I saw one in a junk yard years ago, I remember thinking what the hell is this! It was yellow and still had the cragers on it. I was only 17 and didn't now any better! :sad1:

    Wheels

Thanks guy's, keep the idea's comming. Nothings floatin my boat yet. I almost bought a set of Foose Nitrous (Gray) (15X7) on e-bay. screamin price, I believe do to the fact they no longer make that wheel in a 15". :headbang:

    Wheels

Gents, I can't decide what wheel to put on my 65 Dart. I'll be converting to big bolt pattern soon so I'll need new wheels. I am thinking either Magnum 500's or Keystone classics. My car is white, so I need a wheel with some color in it. Any pics and suggestions of other wheels to look at...

273 Commando Air Cleaners and Valve Covers

I am using all the Hipo 273 stuff on my 360 in my 65, just find an aftermarket base for the air cleaner just as some of the other people mentioned. Works fine! I'd post a pic, but I haven't figured that part out yet!

    Tires and wheel question.

I believe the 73 and up disc brake cars were 4.5", anything prior would still be 4". I do believe the six cylinder cars with drum brakes still used the 4" until the end. :)

    Tires and wheel question.

The A body used the small bolt pattern way past 1968! :)

    Radiator

Hmmm, well I was thinking I would just use the front cover and water pump off my 273, hoping that the bottom pulley on the 360 lines up everything else. But it might be easier to scrounge up a Volare Radiator and try that. It's alway's something! :shaking2:

    Radiator

Well, I am using the newer style water pump and that is the reason for need for a radiator change. I suppose I could use the older style water pump if need be, but I'd preferre to use the newer style just for ease of finding replacements.

    Radiator

Gents, I am finally getting back to my project of putting a 360 into my 65 and was wondering what you guy's are using for a radiator? I really don't want to spend big bucks on my stock one to modify the bottom hose connection and add a core. I am sure 66 dartman has an answer for me...

Front end rebuild kit with 73 and Up stuff!

I've actually have a sway bar that i took off of a 65 convertable years ago, but I still need the tabs on the lower control arms. Can I just weld a set on or do I need to swap lower control arms? As for the front end kit, It looks like I just need to order the appropriate kit for my car and...

Front end rebuild kit with 73 and Up stuff!

So, I've got the motor out of my car and figure I might as well get the 74 duster disc brake set up installed. My question is can I just order a front end rebuild kit for the duster and will that have all the correct parts for the items that I am not updating, like the strut rod bushings and...

    273 manifolds

It's not that hard to make the 340 manifolds fit! I did attempt a set of Magnum manifolds on my car, that wasn't happening! :drinkers:

    who has a Pre 67 A body ?

I have been though many A-body's, early and 2nd gen. I am currently down to just one 65 GT, 62,000 original miles, 273, AT,PS. Currently awaiting a 360! I do at times miss the later A-bodies simply for the fact it's easier to find parts and even though those cars don't have alote of engine...

    Early A-body SBlock headers

They won't flow as well, but I have a set of 340 manifolds on my 65! Many people told me they would not fit, But they are on there. After a bit of die grinder work on the power steering box.
