Post your wheel and tire combos.

Here is (I think) the largest wheel combo possible for stock 1965 Plymouth Barracuda: Front I have stock rims 5,5x14, BP 3 3/4 and 205/70-14. Rear I have WheelVintiques 61 Series 7x14, BP 4 1/4 and 245/60-14. I have maybe 1/4inch from inner wheel to leaf spring, and no rubbing outside what so...

    1967 Barracuda Hub Cap Question

Here it is, finally mounted. 235/60-14 on 7" WheelVintiques. The bolt holes on the cover only match 98%, but that’s OK! The bolts are hidden well behind the covers on the 7" rim, they don’t protrude through the cover, as they do on the original 5,5" up front.

Post your wheel and tire combos.

I run 235/60-14 rear on my -65. Original 5,5 rims with 3 3/4 BP. And I dont think I‘d be able to fit any wider tires due to the slanting rear fender. The issue is that if you still have the original 5x4 bolt pattern there are not that many rims or BP to choose from.

    1967 Barracuda Hub Cap Question

Thank you for your awesome feedback! I went ahead and ordered the Wheel Vintiques 61 series, 14"x7 BS 4.25. It was worth the LOOONG wait, because I think these will fit perfectly with my 235/60-14s in the rear. And I CAN CONFIRM, the 1964-66 sport wheel covers fit snug and perfectly on the Wheel...

    Trans cooler lines 904

I measured OD to be 5/16. I thought pipes were named by ID? Local parts store operates in mm. Hence I have to order the parts.

    Trans cooler lines 904

1965 Barracuda 273 with 904. One of the cooler lines have been compressed between the starter and steering, so I guess I have restricted coolant flow. Needless to say, I need to replace that line. I have measured the OD to be 5/16 on the tube. I guess ID will be approx 3/8? Can I use 3/8 copper...

    Lets see some mopar steelies

Here is my setup: Original steelies with covers, 14x5.5, BP 3.75. 5 on 4 bolt pattern. 205/70-14 front, 235/60-14 rear.

    Three point safetybelt

Anyone fitted three point safetybelts to a 1964-66 Barracuda without roll bar? Is there enough strength in the rear pillar to weld in a seatbelt anchor or will the entire pillar pull loose in a crash?

Seat back loose on buckets 1965

Awesome info, thanks! I cannot locate anyone of those anywhere, so I now know I‘ll have to get creative sometimes ahead! :thankyou:

No springs what so ever on mine… So pics or part nr appreciated!

Seat back loose on buckets 1965

Original buckets in my 1965 Barracuda. The seat back is attached with one bolt each side, so every time I stop short, the seat back of the passenger side slams forward to its collapsed position. Anyone have a way to «lock» the seat back in the upright position when not needed for entry?

European A-body owners: where are you?

I’ve actually gotten the old steelies refurbished this summer, so now I‘m back to steel wheels with authentic aluminium wheel covers…

European A-body owners: where are you?

I have a 1965 Barracuda Formula S with the 273 engine located in Northern Norway… But driving season is only about 5 months a year here…

    1967 Barracuda Hub Cap Question

Awesome info! Actually, the center of my wheel covers can be rotated a bit, and if needed pulled completely apart and spot welded in place to fit according to the wheel bolts. So I guess I’ll be ordering a pair of Rallies and give it a go! I’ll make it work! :thankyou:

    1967 Barracuda Hub Cap Question

Thanks! I am unable to find 14" steelies wider than 5,5 inches, and as I’m planning on 245 rears that is a nogo. The rallies come up to 8" wide with SBP 5x4, so I’m thinking rallies painted black if the covers fit!

Formula S style full wheel covers fitment

Yes, there is a gap behind the wheel cover. You can see it on this pic:

1965 Plymouth Barracuda. Old setup: 14x7 rims, backspace 3 3/4. 215/70-14. Some rubbing in the rear in speed bumps. New setup: 14x5,5 rims, backspace 3 3/4. 205/70-14 front, 235/60-14 rear. No rubbing what so ever!

    Steel wheels

Does anyone know a source for new steelies for the small bolt pattern? If I search for «14x7 5x4 steel rims» I get a million hits on 5x4,5 rims. My tire guy was not impressed when I brought 235/60-14 to mount on 14x5,5 rims… But I want them steelies, as I have them 14in wheel caps.

Modern skinny spare for older mopars

As I have 14in rims I went for a 175/82-14. It’s full size, but still about 2cm too thick for a completely flat floor.

Post pics of your black rims!

How To: Dual circuit brakes early A

Yes, I see what you mean 67dart273. I've used 3/16" pipes, inverted flare, with the threads 3/8"x24NF. The junction block has threads 7/16"x24NS. The MC has threads 9/16"x20 and 1/2"x20. I'll edit in the numbers. This old bird does not have any warning light fitted, and neither does the...
