Need help to save my Father-in-laws car

Sounds like a noble cause. I don't think you will get too many takers, times are hard for many persons. Thank You to the persons that donated, big time. As for the comment on smokes, so what? It was his choice, and what bad habits do you have? I don't believe it is relevant. Matthew 5:42 -...

    Body Work Tutorial

This is an informative thread, and people do still have questions. Bodywork is an important part for many of us that do our own cars. I can see where the person who pays to have all his work done, doesn't have a clue what this thread is about or implies. My opinion, and I am sure many others...

    Wanted 904 trans

I understand about greed and as long as there are people, greed is their driving factor and they would bend over their mother, father, sister, brother, neighbor, lifelong friend to make a buck, there are true people in need of parts that are in the low income category and can't afford to buy...

    Windshield sealer

How thick is the butyl tape that is going into the channel the where the windshield goes? If it is too thick wouldn't it hinder the gasket fitting into the windshield? The reason I ask, I have seen butyl rubber in a roll in an RV shop. It might be 3 mm thick. I was wondering if the butyl also...

    How to install a windshield.

I have a 1970 Valiant Duster and would like to know if there is a good tutorial on installing a windshield. Or has anyone done an install and took a video or pics on how to install? Thanks

what plug wires would you use

I would go to the auto parts store and buy a nice set of precut wires and put them on. No need to get technical unless you have headers and need high heat wires.

    Alternator Pulsing

Sounds like your voltage regulator. Do your headlights, taillights also pulse? Did it do that BEFORE you replaced your alternator? If not, I would say your alternator might be the problem. Auto Zone and Advance Auto have been known to sell bad alternators, and I have gotten 3 bad ones in a row...

    Where To Find 10" Shoes

I also don't understand why the spring will not stay in the rectangle hole. Shouldn't matter because the rectangle is not any larger than the round. Must be a problem with your spring.

    360 Magnum question

If I were you, just install it and drive it. You don't have to jump into trying to keep up with the neighbor, so to speak. Anything you do is going to cost, money and time. There are a lot of stockers running around, and stockers run pretty well.

starting up 340 that's been sitting for a few years

Many good ideas. It is a simple matter of elimination. Check to see if you are getting fuel. Easy enough, remove the fuel line from the carburetor, place the line into a jar or can or whatever, have someone crank the engine. If it is pumping, you will know, naturally if it doesn't pump, you need...

    Body Work Tutorial

As far as fixing these rust spots, you have a few options. 1. Sand panel until they are gone (or as close as you can tell) 2. Grind panel with some sort of abrasive wheel (this may require you to do filler work if it is taking metal from the panel). 3. Chemically treat the area with an acid...

    1974 Duster - First Mopar

I used the rust convertor that advance auto sells. I used it on my 37 Dodge on the cowl and cowl vent, dash and back of dash, and a few other places. I let it sit 24 hours or so, then run a fine sandpaper over it, primered and painted the car with a base coat, clear coat, never had another...

    1974 Duster - First Mopar

I also had a truck 318 in my 70 Valiant/Duster. It came out of an old Dodge PowerWagon and was one healthy little engine. If the pan is backwards, take the one from your old 318 with pump and replace them on the truck engine.
