Ok so it isn't an A body but here's the new "lady of the house"

Mighty big she is. Has a 413 (which I am positive will get great mileage, lol.) She didn't come with oars or paddles though, I looked in the trunk. She isn't running yet so Trapster you'll need to bring several big dudes to push you around in it when you steal it. The driveway is...

    73-74 grille lenses

I have at least one (there's probably a 2nd but I'm still cleaning the garage.) I'll look tonight for the second one. Either way, you can have what I find. They are extra.

    WTF is This?!?

There's a good site I go to whenever I find "interesting" bugs around the house. www.whatsthatbug.com If you send them the pic, they'll oftentimes post it with a reply about what it is. We have all kinds of spiders here but my favorite is a golden orb (garden spider). They are the ones...

    Emma

So sorry about Emma. We lost our little beagle to cancer June 25th. On the 26th we knew the best way to heal a broken heart was with another puppy. Meet Victoria Abigail... (Abbey was our beagle's name.)

    New Exhaust & Engine pics

The headers and exhaust system are TTI & the mufflers are Pypes Race Pros. It sounds really nice, not obnoxious at idle but give it some gas & it roars. I'm pretty sure the hangers were supposed to go there according to the TTI instructions. Thanks for the compliments. :-D I can't...

Power Steering Pump Pulley not lining up

Have everything ordered (new pulleys) alt & ps brackets. Hopefully this weekend we'll be able to try to get this thing done. It is supposed to hit 100 degrees on Saturday though so unless we start at the butt crack of dawn, it may not get done. It will be unbearable working on it in the...

Power Steering Pump Pulley not lining up

All but the last two are of the current ps pump we're trying to fit in and the engine setup. The last two are of the older ps pump (from the 63 Dodge.)

Power Steering Pump Pulley not lining up

all engine problems solved. ran car last week (still in the driveway) but no more overheating. the p/s pulley is outward off. i thought about possible shim for the water pump fan pulley but crank lines up good with it. the p/s pump needs to come inward 1/16 - 1/8 inch. i may not have a problem...

Power Steering Pump Pulley not lining up

I'll post a pic tomorrow, it's dark here now. The pump off the 63 looked totally wrong so we are trying to put in the pump from the 86 truck. Problem is when I bought the 340, it was just the engine and nothing else so I'm trying to work with what I have. I went with the Mopar Performance...

Power Steering Pump Pulley not lining up

would a remote resevoir pump work?
  15. M

    need p/s mounting info.

Just exactly where does this pump bolt up? (remote resevoir) We are trying to fit a pump on a 68 340 with a Mopar performance water pump in a 63 Dodge 440

Power Steering Pump Pulley not lining up

What to do? Engine is 68 340 with Mopar Performance alum. water pump. The ps pump from the 63 doesn't fit (brackets issue) and the one off an 86 318 fits but the pulley is about 1/16 to 1/8 inch off (sticks out further than water pump pulley.) New pump? Different brackets?

New Engine Woes and a question

It is a 68 340. The water pump is a Mopar Performance pump. We are gonna try the fix ourselves. The guy at the engine shop so far has been decent about it. I'm sure in the end if the fix doesn't work, he will work on correcting it. They work on alot of engines and so they must be somewhat...

New Engine Woes and a question

All other stuff you mentioned is new and in working order (except the car never had a fan shroud.) It does have an electric fan in addition to the stock fan.

New Engine Woes and a question

I shut it down when the temp gauge hit 210 (the second time.) I don't know how hot exactly it got the first time we tried to do the break in because the temp gauge was not installed. Hot enough to blow antifreeze out the tube on the side of the radiator cap. The first time we tried the break...

New Engine Woes and a question

So if ya have been following the recent issues I've been having with the break-in of the new motor, ya know it hasn't been going well. Overheating has been a big problem. Yes, we nearly killed the engine. We had a timing issue (which has been corrected since we did get the thing to run long...

What color should I paint my engine?

New Engine Still Overheating During Break-in

Changed t-stat (made sure it worked first.) Added new coolant. Plugged a vacuum leak on the carb. Pulled a plug and it was a bit lean, but nothing major. Started it up and let it idle for a couple of minutes, tweaked the carb a bit and it stalled out. Now it won't start at all, just reeks...

New Engine Still Overheating During Break-in

Currently using 93 Octane gas (but it has been sitting a while and has additive in it for refreshing fuel.) Coolant was flowing in the system and the cap was off this time. Will check the timing in the morning.

New Engine Still Overheating During Break-in

Suggestions anyone?? Got thru only 10 minutes of engine break in last week and thought the thermostat was bad. Coolant spewed everywhere out the blowout. This weekend cleaned everything up, hooked up temp gauge, refilled coolant, checked everything for leaks and fired it up without a...

Did we just kill the brand new engine?

UPDATE: Got the temp gauge installed and working AND received a new Mr. Gasket 160 deg. thermostat in the mail yesterday from Mancini. Will try everything again with all suggestions noted and applied this weekend. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Many Thanks for all the replies!!!

Did we just kill the brand new engine?

No temp gauge...in hindsight it would have been pretty helpful. The engine just got past the point where to keep it a 2000 rpm was not difficult. The first few minutes it was a test to see if my foot could keep the 2000 rpm static.

Did we just kill the brand new engine?

Finally got to the point where we were ready to fire up the new 340. Primed engine according to instructions (spinning/cranking, etc.), hooked up the tach & oil pressure gauge. All fluids filled, gas good, poured about 1/4 gas into new carb and turned the key...

    Whaddaya Think It's All Worth?

Thanks for the replies. SmallBlock, I knew the truth was gonna be bad and that's okay. There's nothing that would need to be purchased to complete the project...it is all there just not together. I also know that generally people want to buy something that's running and they don't need to put...
