    High compression blues.

My small block in my D-50 is 10.9 comp. with a 255/266 @.050 cam with 195-200 lbs cylinder pressure. Mine was built for 91 octane but have never ran anything but 93. It has never detonated. I run my timing at 35*.

Who races w/OE Magnum short blocks

I was running a 360/380 hp crate motor in my D50 and the short block except for cam is a stock Magnum. It has the .501/.513 hydraulic roller cam. It ran its quickest ET shifting at 5600 rpm. If I went any higher it would nose down and slow down. Ran a best of 7.27 @ 94 mph in the 1/8 at 2950lbs...

Lights out 9 in South Georgia?

A couple of years ago I watched the race on line when Big Chief and Murder Nova was there and Murder Nova did a wheelie all the way across the finish line and still won the race. He ran a 4.43 in the 1/8.

    massive reconfiguration time again.

I ran 6.20's in the 1/8 with my small block with a Carter mechanical pump with 3/8 rubber line. I think it would run your motor just fine. Then there is no electric fuel pump noise.

    PTC 9.5 stall converter question

I also run a 8 I also run a 8 inch convertor on the street and have no issues. I use to drive 135 miles round trip to the track. Never even noticed a difference.

    PTC 9.5 stall converter question

I agree with 70 aarcuda call PTC. Convertors for turbo cars is going to be tighter than one for a NA motor. The other one should work better. I am running a 8 inch PTC convertor behind my stroked 340 (394 ci).

Why is Pro Stock Dodge down on horsepower ?

I read in a magazine a long time ago that the president of NHRA said he wanted a Ford and a Chevy in the final round on Sunday not a Dodge.

    Demon rear tire/wheel combo question??

The little bit of the wheel house that sticks out above the frame I heated and knocked in with a hammer. It looked fine when I got done. I don't remember how much room it had back there but it never rubbed. The car got totaled while PARKED in the staging lane at one of my local drag strip. The...

    Demon rear tire/wheel combo question??

I used 10 inch rims on my Demon with the 3 inch spring in board kit, stock width rear and no mini tub. I put M/T 28/10.5 W slick. I think I used 4 7/8 back space.

Titanium connecting rods for sbm 416

My pump gas 379 stroke 340 (394 ci) made 662 hp at 7300 on 91 octane. You don't have to turn that much RPM to make 500 hp. I am using CompStar 6.250 steel rods.

    This 318 is a runner

Why are you surprised. A lot of small block mopars are making that much or more and holding up. Isn't a 318 block as strong as a 340 or 360 block?

    Distributor

I was running a stock distributor and when I put a timing light on it was bouncing around all over the place. I put a MSD in it and it was rock solid.

how much compression is too much?

My small block is 10.9 comp. and was built to run on 91 octane. I race it and drive it on 93 octane. It has aluminum heads and not a very big duration cam. My cranking cylinder pressure is between 195 and 201 lbs. I decided after my last motor that I would not have another motor that I have to...

    What will this run?

I ran a 7.27 @ 94 in the 1/8 with a 360/380 hp crate motor at 2950 lbs. According to Wallace Racing calculator at your weight that would be 7.52. And that translates to around 11.80 in the 1/4. You have a lot better heads and a bigger cam so I think you will easily run better than 11.50.

I If it is street or Drag race it does not get more simpler than Calrac bars. There is leaf spring cars with Caltrac bars running 4.20's in the 1/8 on 275/60 Drag Radials.

    Caltrac Tuning Info LOOK HERE

I run my 315/60 M/T Drag Radials most of the time because it is over a tenth faster on them in the 1/8. It hooks most of the time. But I have a set of really old M/T 29.5/10.5 slicks that are probably 15 years old mounted on another set of wheels. When I run them I don't even have to do a burn...

I think the member TripleThreat with the red dart is the one that was running the Brodix heads on a big small block. He is running high nines I think with a Gen 111 Hemi now.

    Looking for a anti-roll recommendations

And if you have a leaf spring rear suspension it will rise in the rear. They are supposed to. Like the above guy said it is pushing the tires down. If it squats it is pulling up on the rear tires.

trans brake vs launch control ?

Every car that I have raced ran a quicker ET the more I foot brake stall them. My D-50 will only foot brake stall around 2800, if I try to go higher it pushes through the beams. I still have had a best 1.33 60 ft. I wish I could stall it higher. I am thinking about sending my convertor back to...

    2017 318 RACE !! .... please join the fun

You will go quicker with a Drag Radial than with a slick if you hook. I did a back to back test at the track with M/T 29.5/10.5w and a M/T 315/60 Drag Radial and ran over a tenth faster with the drag radial in the 1/8. It dead hooked with both tires. I do not run slicks any more.

    Picking gears

I ran a best of 7.27 @ 94 mph shifting at 5400 with a 5.14 gear and 30 inch tall M/T 315/60 drag radial at 2950 lbs. If I shifted any higher it would slow down. 8 in. PTC convertor. Only 1/8 mile tracks in my state.

    Picking gears

I can't tell you what gear to use but I can tell you what RPM I figured out to shift at. I started out shifting at 6000 and starting going down on my shift points and I ran the quickest ET shifting at 5400 rpm. When I was shifting at a higher RPM it would nose down before it shifted. I am using...
