26 volt reading came from the batt post on the alternator with engine running at idle. Alternator is a round back, field wire rebuilt one, vr is new electronic type, wiring is new painless system one field wire rebuilt one, vr is new electronic type, wiring is new painless system

68 Dart GTS 340 with A/C and 727

I thought the VR which is brand new would knock it down to 14.5

When I checked the output of my alternator it read 26 volts. Is that in the correct range as it seems a little high? Amp gauge reads high when idling and maxed out when going down the road. I have replace the bulkhead connector due to alternator wire melting it. Any suggestions much appreciated.

All right, I did all of this alternator is charging VR was changed out for new electronic one still no charge.

Car only has 277 miles since total rotisserie restoration including bulk head connector and new wiring harnesses. I ran a wire from the positive stud on alternator to positive side of battery and connected multimeter at that spot and ground, showed charging.

My dart has stopped charging and I a lost. It was charging good one day and the next it has stopped, I had the alternator checked and it was found to be working as it should, so I replaced the regulator with a new electronic one and still no charge. The ammeter is working and shows discharge...

Original bushings were Aluminum, replacements are sintered oilite bronze.

I have a 68 Dart that I installed four wheel disc brakes on with a Wilwood master cylinder. Question is...Do I need a proportioning valve with this setup?

I use WD40 to clean the sparkplug wires, takes the dirt and grease off and leaves them looking like new.

I will chime in here with a thought. Just because the pump pulley spins freely does not mean that the impeller is still attached to it. The fact that the pump may have locked up and thrown the belt tells me the problem is more than likely the impeller as I have seen cases where the impeller had...
