    Old Dodge Trucks

Some really nice rigs guys! I am doing a '69 right now and was wondering about the Rad support colors. I know the lower is body color but is the whole thing body color or is the top blacked out like this one: Is the engine side body color or black??? Thanks! Trying to get this...

    Rotisserie length

Well, the way I look at it, you can always slide the tubes together to shorten the long roto, but you would have to add your own tubing to lengthen the short one. I have put everything from a Newport to a truck cab on mine.

Are Oil Free Air Compressors REALLY Oil Free?

I just helped a friend fix an oil-free Sanborn compressor that wasn't "pumping up" like it should. When the cover was removed you see an exposed rod going up to a "piston". All exposed, no oil. The piston sleeve had split. The sleeve is just about as thick as a tin can (if not closer to...

I smell gas from my 6 banger

Had the same thing happen last year. Although I filled the crankcase with gas. I thought it was the carb so I rebuilt it. Changed the oil (mostly gas) and drove it a few days only to fill the damn crankcase again! Then a good fellow here suggested the pump was leaking into the engine...

I've had a Roto 2000 for the last 7 years. Love it. http://www.theroto2000.com/compare.htm

    [SOLD] Re-starting Dash making.....

I am in need for a full dash for a '68 Dart. Mine has been hacked soooo bad over the years. I just want to start over (and I don't care about originality with a /6 car). I would like provisions for heat/ac controls, radio (could be a knob or DIN), and would love to keep my glove box.

    1964 Barracuda Lft Quarter Panel

I am helping a friend find parts to repair a '64 barracuda. The car was in an accident and hit on the lft rear corner. He is going to need the rear foot of the quarter panel and any trim, lights, etc. that comes along with it. Send a pm to me if you have a car you can cut it off of.

    Rotisserie Pictures

In all honesty I am glad I spent $1200.00 on mine. There is no way I could have engineered, bought all the materials, and with my time factored in built one as nice as the Roto 2000 I own. If I ever need a second one (which I do, but storage when both are not being used is a floor hog in my...

Need help with Dart Door estimate

Last night a deer ran into the side of my '68 Dart 270. Damn it!! So, I call the claim in this morning and start looking for a Lft. Door. Nothing. I know there must be a rust-free door out there somewhere, and I am in no hurry, but I need to write an estimate. What does a straight...

    Holley 1 barrel flooding

Something just dawned on me... Are you thinking that the pump is leaking directly into the crankcase???

    Holley 1 barrel flooding

Doesn't a fuel pump either pump X gallons a hour or nothing??? How would it ever "over-pump"??? I have heard of older engines (Flathead era) that would do this. Maybe I should read up on how a fuel pump pumps?

    Holley 1 barrel flooding

The carb kit arrived at the shop this morning and I replaced everything. The float checked out ok, as did all the diaphragms. The inlet needle was free. Actually too free compared to the new one. I wonder if the "slop" in it caused it to stay open or leak??? Thanks for the help guys...

Ya. Guess I should have stated, '68 225

    Holley 1 barrel flooding

Before I tear into my carb, what causes a carb to dump excess fuel? Last week I noticed a "fuel smell" and parked the car after I made it home. Drained a couple gallons of gas with the 5 quarts of oil.... Not happy. It was literally shooting out the valve cover! (she may be clean now, but...

Help! On the road with no turn signals

Thanks for all the help! I thought there was two separate flashers, I just couldn't find a second one. (this dash has really been hacked over the years. I need a new harness one of these days) So thanks for the diagram. I have those saved on my computer, but since I am on the road, it was...

Help! On the road with no turn signals

On vacation right now traveling. Have a test light along. No turn signals, but the flashers work. '68 Dart. Friday I was in the Twin Cities while they received over an inch of rain an hour. Drove through alot of standing water. Turn signals still worked after that for about 3 hours and...

Care to tackle a set of '71 B-body hinges?? One of them is missing the coil spring. Would you be able to find a replacement?

    Paint sealer?'s

I should note that the only reason I do it this way is that many of the cars that come into my shop come in bare metal from a media blaster. The first thing I do is clean it up and put it in epoxy. Then I can analyze the damage and order the replacement panels or fabricate them. Rust happens...

    Paint sealer?'s

It depends. If you are ready for paint, you can use a wet on wet sealer system that allows you to seal, wait for the recommended flash time, spray the base coats, flash and then clear. This is the way production body shops do it. Fast and easy = $$$. But, for a restoration I sand between...

Don't laugh... trailer hitch. '68 Dart

Thanks for all the replies guys!! This is what I had envisioned: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showpost.php?p=586987&postcount=15 A receiver may be stronger and may be able to be tucked in enough to be almost invisible. My thinking is that if I am going to have a hitch on...

Don't laugh... trailer hitch. '68 Dart

If you can find it, I'll take it. Just PM me with a price and shipping weight. (no big rush to dig it out. Still have a ton of snow on the ground)

Don't laugh... trailer hitch. '68 Dart

I'm building a lightweight tear drop trailer for me and the wife to take to the track, shows, events, etc. I need a hitch. Anyone remove one from their car? I would also even settle for pics of a bolt on A-Body hitch. I can fabricate, but would really like it to look like it's been on...

    Inner Quarter Panel coating pics??

You gotta wonder what they were thinking? I wish I could meet a "coating applicator".... I understand that these cars were just transportation at the time, but seriously... take some pride in your work! If you ordered a 2011 Challenger, and the trunk looked like that you would refuse it...

    Inner Quarter Panel coating pics??

Yes Snake. That is what I was looking for. And anyone else who may have a pic or two, thanks in advance. I have some pics from when I got the car, but the blaster took care of all the loose stuff. Thankfully the seam sealer (yes. very, very ugly but beautiful in it's own weird way) is in...

    Inner Quarter Panel coating pics??

No one has an un-molested quarter panel??? This car was sent to my shop after the blaster got done with it, so I don't have any pics of the before coating.

    Strombergs or Holley 94

I think the one that said something about swapping in a flathead was the closest to the answer you are looking for. Search for a flathead forum and see what they are using and the performance/flow numbers they are getting. You can always make a 94 or Stromberg fit. The adapter is the easy...

    Inner Quarter Panel coating pics??

I would love to see some of the factory's slopped on, running, oozing, inner panel coating. Original stuff or 100% accurate re-coating. Working on a '69 GTS 440 and this guys is fussy... I need to get it perfect (or sloppy, shitty, accurate factory quality :-)

    Pre-soliciting Introduction

You're going to hear it from someone sooner or later... Get a copy of the factory service manual. Those Chilton manuals have alot of wrong information in them. Fine for finding the oil capacity I guess, but probably off when it comes to proper clearances. Most of the power is in the head...
