I have (2) factory axles for 8 3/4 with new green bearings installed. I ended up having Moser cut the housing down and purchased new ones instead. They are 30 spline and measure 28 9/16 from the back of the flange. New studs installed.
$250 plus the ride.
Ok guys I figured it out - Moser screwed up. The job sheet I sent was to cut 2” off each side of housing, supply new axles 2” shorter as well (if the old ones can’t be cut and resplined). They could not because of the taper. So somehow the new ones only net 1” shorter. So with one side in, the...
Need help: just installed a 8 3/4 housing i just had narrowed by Moser. Also bought new axles. I installed the new third member (4:10 spool).
Left side axle went in just fine- right won’t go in all the way to seat bearing. It does engage enough to turn opposite side wheel and driveshaft. Seems...
Does anyone have a part# or link for the larger front leaf spring bushing for a 66 Barracuda? I'm doing a rear end swap (7 1/4 to 8 3/4) & spring relocation. I have a set of springs but noticed one of the front bushings are missing. I believe these might be whats called super stock springs but...
Looking for the biggest set I can get squeezed in my 66 Barracuda. Thought maybe someone has been down this road. I recently replaced my factory rear end with a 8.75 SG and I'm wanting as much rubber as I can get. From what I can tell by measuring, it looks like I can get a Hoosier 28x11.5 in...
No matter what I adjust, I cant get the squeal out of it when I put my foot down. Just don't want to get into situations where I either have to refrain from getting on it, or keep spare belts in the trunk. I just found the replacement high flow pumps are only $89, seems reasonable I guess.
Yeah, that gets things too tight to my radiator. I'm only running an alternator, no other other accessories. Those kits are high enough let alone having to buy a new pump as well.
Looking to serpentine conversion on my 318, but it seems the kits that are available say they are strictly for the "newer" water pump with lower radiator hose on the passenger side. Mine is the older version which is on the drivers side. Anyone know if there is a kit that will work with my...
Looking for a shifter with reverse lock-out that will replace the non lock-out one on my 833 OD tranny. I'm not sure its possible to swap them out and use my existing linkage, if someone knows for sure I'd appreciate the feedback.
Slant 6 out of 1966 cuda with 98k miles, runs good. Comes with 3 speed tranny, Bell housing, column shifter, clutch, pressure plate, fork, bearing, linkage. Also have the 4 speed bell housing (+$45) Radiator (+$50)
47038 area.
Good to know, because I’m about to order the the tower from Brewer that allows you to use the replacement sticks that have the two bolts. I thought the bottom of all the sticks were the same and I’d be able to just swap them out - Brewer tells me I need the tower with the thru holes.
Thanks, thought I read something about pushing a steel shim or feeler gauge down the driver side of the stick to release it somehow...still doesn't make sense.
Question: How is the stick removed? I'm looking to replace the longer angled one with a shorter straight version. I can see the two holes from above inside the car, but there isn't a bolt head or nut on either side. TIA
