    Removing oil pan

I'm sure someone here has changed an oil pan gasket on a 72 swinger. I took the drag link, starter and transmission dust plate off but the ******* oil pan just doesn't want to come out. At this point in my project I'm ready to sell this thing as-is and buy an Iroc. LOL. :angry5:

Complete rebuild on a 440, I need suggestions

OK so a few years ago the old man brought home an old dodge van with a 440 smogger with the plans of building it up and putting it in a 70's mopar. Last week he finally got around to getting a hold of a 74 charger with a 318. NOW, I want to be able to take care of the lower end for him and...

Some weird vibrating that needs to be fixed!

Just took the car around the block for the first time all summer... I noticed a vibrating above 35 mph that may or may not be the driveshaft (this is my first guess) My question is, are driveshafts weighted for particular cars? I noticed a block that look like a weight near the universal. Just...

Need some information on a song!!

I just found out that Fates Warning did a Judas Priest cover of Saints in Hell ( from my FAVORITE album) and I would like to know what release Fates Warning released this on (a single or something???) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlSEN8uNkCY Thanks :-D

    Manual steering box adjustments

I beadblasted, re-sealed and put new bearings in an A body manual steering box... I slapped it in this evening but noticed it would lock up just a bit at certain points. I know that the points of adjustment are that screw in the top of the cover with the nut on it, and that very large aluminum...

    Holley carb jetting 101

Took my freshly rebuilt 360 down the road today for the first time... runs well, but it smokes more than it should and it idles rather rough (even rougher when I put it into drive/reverse) My first guess is that I need smaller jets for the carb. The setup: 360 block 1971 J-heads from a 340...

Sept. 27th Mopars @ Lebanon Valley strip, show and swap meet

I know it's a little early to be thinking this far ahead, but is anyone else planning on going for this? I've been there every year for probably the last ten years and it's never a disappointment, the parking lot is always full and there's tons of parts for sale.

Does anyone have a factory canister laying around? Is there such a thing as a factory overflow bottle?

    Removing valve body

I have a 727 in a 72 Dart and the valve body needs to come out, but I just can get a wrench on the bracket that the kickdown mounts to on the tranny. Has anyone ever managed to get the damn thing off without pulling the whole tranny?

Motor is good but tranny is not!!

Just rebuilt a whole drivetrain for a 72 Dart... but unfortunately the tranny does not shift into gear. Also, I put new clutch discs/bushings/seals etc so perhaps it was something I did wrong. Park works and it can be shifted into neutral to get it rolling reverse, 1 2 and drive do absolutely...

    Shift linkage troubles!

I have a 72 swinger that used to have a 904 column shift that I switched over to a 727. Should the linkage and that linkage mount that bolts on to the trans be the same? I have it all in there and it doesn't seem to add up :angry5: Very frustrating

I have a 1972 Dart with a 360, 727 and an 8 3/4 posi... does anyone have any for sale, or if no one has it does anyone know the exact measurement so maybe I can look for one elsewhere? :toothy9:

    Installing camshaft bearings

Does anyone know of a good website for directions on proper cam bearing installation, or does anyone wanna give me some? I have a motor with the crank and everything still in it, and rather than take everything apart and take it to the shop I'd rather do it myself with the heads and everything...

Argh!! Small servo sealing ring broke

As some people know here from my previous questions, I'm rebuilding a 727 atm, and as of now I have the overrun clutch, input shaft, clutch packs etc. back in, and just this evening I was installing a new servo that I bought from mancini. Two problems: Upon installing the the servo, the small...

    Front clutch pack questions

I'm currently rebuilding a 727, just wondering how many springs would be appropriate for a 5 to 1 kickdown lever and a mild shift kit?? When I cracked it open, I can see it has 9 springs stock.

Taking apart a valve body for an overhaul

I have a non lockup 727 apart in my garage now, clutch pack and pump and all that fun stuff is apart like it should be... but this is the first time I've had a tranny apart, and I'm wondering what I should be looking for when I service the valve body? I have that Carl Munroe book and it has been...

    727 on a 360

A bit of a dilemma... I have a 1971 360 that's going in a Dart, and I have a 727 Torqueflite that I got from a buddy that SUPPOSEDLY has the correct torque converter for the 360 (to my understanding, the stock transmission that the Dart has with a 318 will **** the crank) I'm not sure what would...
