Jay Leno Showing The GTS Dart Some Love

Other than the GTS package with the big block, that looks a lot like what I want my heap to look like someday. Great video.

1972 Duster , starting to tear into the build

Exactly what I was thinking. I think I'll cut the outer sheet metal far enough up to allow access to the inner brace and then mark and cut the inner brace as necessary, bold the new brace in place, trim to fit, and tack in place before I remove the fender from the car to do the outer patch. I'm...

1972 Duster , starting to tear into the build

I have to do that very same repair on both fenders of my '68 Dart. I have to fix the inner braces as well so I've been a bit nervous about cutting into it and getting them right so they line up. Guess I just need to bite the bullet and start cutting.

1972 Duster , starting to tear into the build

That looks like the best way to put an engine in an old Mopar. It seems to make sense, especially in projects like mine, where the k-member and entire front suspension had to come out anyway.

    15" Steel Rims on a '68 Dart

A four door! Nice. I recently saw a really clean '69 Satellite 4 door on Marketplace, wish I had some extra space and cash. It would be great when you want to take a few extra people like me that aren't very flexible anymore and can't easily get in and out of back seats of hardtops.

1969 Dodge Dart GT “driver” build

So you've converted from small to large bolt pattern. That's where I'm kind of stuck. I'd like to do a disc brake upgrade and that would take care of the front. I'd need to figure out something for the rear. I have an 8.75 rear to install, I guess I'll need to pull the axles. Do you happen to...

1969 Dodge Dart GT “driver” build

Looks cool to me, nice stance. But the lip of the quarter sure looks close to the tires. What is your tire/wheel combo? I'd like to have some rims like that for mine.

    360 LA Block Questions

Yeah, I've seen the ones that JEGS and Summit sell but I was hoping to find a used Mopar car oil pan. Those JEGS pans look a little cheap, maybe someone here has used them and had no leak problems. If so, that's probably a good option.

    360 LA Block Questions

Yes, the oil pan is different. I still haven't found one for a car yet.

    15" Steel Rims on a '68 Dart

    That's a good looking Valiant.

    15" Steel Rims on a '68 Dart

True, I could just have Weldcraft Wheels widen a pair of 14" wheels and call it a day. Probably the cheapest option.

    15" Steel Rims on a '68 Dart

I recently came across a set of red circle poverty caps for a good price and wanted to use them on steel rims on my '68 Dart. The problem is the fit. For one, it's a Dart so there's not a ton of room. I'd like a narrow 15" Mopar steel rim (6" wide?) on the front and I'd like a 15x7 or 15x8 on...

    360 LA Block Questions

I haven't posted a dumb question since my last post, so here it goes: I have a 360 LA core that I want to take to the machine shop and get checked and machined for a rebuild. I was told the engine came out of a van. I've seen some comments about truck blocks, is there a difference in the mounts...

[SOLD] A body clutch pedal set

Hi, I've seen a lot of "is this still available" comments. I don't know what something like that would cost to ship to my location but I'd be interested in making an offer if the shipping doesn't make it unfeasible. If you're interested in helping me figure out the shipping costs, let me know...

    74 Dart 360 Sport

I believe I'd be getting a little anxious too, how long has he had your engine? I'd definitely want to put my eyes on it and see the progress.

1969 Dodge Dart GT “driver” build

I'd kind of like to know that wheel and tire combo and how they got those rears to fit. I'm beginning to think rear spring location and a mini-tub kit is about the only way to get some meaty rear tires in a Dart.

1969 Dodge Dart GT “driver” build

You’re dealing with some of the exact issues I need to deal with on my ‘68 Dart. I guess most old Dart owners have this issue but I’ll be watching real close. Post plenty of pics and good luck.

Dang. I hope it goes a little better for me when I get to that point. It looks like you started with a better car than I did, that’s going to be nice.

    '69 Fender on a '68 Dart

Maybe fixing the lower fenders and braces behind the wheel opening is the best bet.

    '69 Fender on a '68 Dart

I'm sure this has come up before but I'd like to replace the front fenders on my '68 Dart instead of doing a lot of patch work. Finding good '68 fenders seems like hitting the lottery. I know of some '69 Dart fenders fairly local to me that are in pretty good shape and don't need near as much...

    A-Body Frame/Body Jig

Easy Peasy. Thanks for the explanation, a lot of nuggets in there that I didn't think about. Good idea about painting the engine compartment at this point too. I'm not making a show car but I'd like it to look sort of like it should. Mine is metallic bronze. Not a great look when it's old and...

    A-Body Frame/Body Jig

Oldmanmopar, if I was closer to PA, I'd just contract with you to do my front clip and rear frame rails. That's one sturdy looking jig. I'm kind of on hold for a while while my wife and I finish a tiling project in our house. After that's done, I get the garage back and will set up to start...

    A-Body Frame/Body Jig

Hey Oldmanmopar, I see you left the cowl/firewall brackets on the Demon, I take it that works well? I watched a Graveyard Carz youtube episode and the brackets were on the donor clip they were installing, the brackets were removed from the firewall of the car they were installing the clip on...

    A-Body Frame/Body Jig

I subscribe to that channel, lots of good info. I agree with Oldmanmopar on the support of the car, though. He fabbed a cool way of holding his car up and moving it around but for frame work, I think I'd prefer something a little more stationary and solid. He's actually repairing the exact same...

    X-heads or J-heads on a 360 LA Engine

It just happens to be what I have at the moment. Hopefully someday I can upgrade it.

    X-heads or J-heads on a 360 LA Engine

The early intent is to run headers, 2-1/2" pipes all the way back (maybe an H-pipe), 9.5-1 compression. I'm just starting body stuff so everything is subject to change but that was the intent when I started. I'm using the Edelbrock Performer and Holley 4160 600 cfm carb that was on the 318 in...

    X-heads or J-heads on a 360 LA Engine

I'm a bit more budget oriented on this car. The only aluminum heads that would even come close price-wise are the Speedmaster heads and I don't know too much about those.
