Have you tried to polish it? I've used Meguiar's Plastx clear plastic cleaner and polish several times with excellent results you just have to be patient. If it's already in bad shape you won't hurt it.

I own a Kawasaki ZX14 and I can tell you it's an unbelieveable ride. The accleration is insane and it handles like a dream. I'm 54 but have always loved sportbikes. I remember riding a 1973 Kawasaki 750 when they were the fastest bikes around. The ZX14 is a rocket on wheels.
