I look forward to seeing you on the Power Tour

Classic auto air install 1970 Duster with 340 and Edebrock Super Victor EFI Manifold

Thought so. That's not what I'm planning, I just want the add-on A/C. Honestly, I was thinking small-diameter (or oval) GVAC ducting for the driver-side vents.

    AC guinea pig...

Need to drive it! And again, THANK YOU @j par for this thread! I just wish I could buy a copy of your compressor bracket.

Classic auto air install 1970 Duster with 340 and Edebrock Super Victor EFI Manifold

Perfect fit my  ! This is the HVAC setup that REPLACES the stock heater, correct? OOOOH! I might want one of those if so. If he could make one that would go about 2/3 the width of the dash (say, 3-4" to the RIGHT of your center vent panel to the driver's side), that might be quite...

source for LA silicone bypass hoses

I recall my Dak had a blue bypass hose that looked like silicone. Might still be available...? No idea on the PN, application was a 95 Dakota Sport with a 318.

Yeah, I heard that about shackles...so I bought a set from a guy on this site.

    Should I Replace AC Condenser?

Friend's 78 Aspen has a converted system (still running the RV2) using the stock condenser. I recall he removed it, cleaned it, and blew it out with lots of compressed air (to get the R-12 oil out), then reinstalled and charged. It works quite well, cools the cavernous (station wagon) interior...

Classic Auto Air Belt alignment fix

This is speculation and fuzzy memories (crap, I'm getting old) here, but I vaguely recall that 80s 318 M-bodies with A/C and smog pumps had weirdly-complex multi-belt drives. I wouldn't be surprised if trucks and vans may have also used something similar.

    Coolant flow

I absolutely want my Duster running at 200.

    Coldmaster AC

I just looked...and I'm screwed. My crank pulley is already using the outer groove for the WP and alternator. I would need to either replace all my pulleys (and probably my alternator) or figure out a way to run the A/C off the rear groove.

Replacing Defrost Hoses for 1971 Demon

I know this thread is old, but...how brutal was the access? What did you have to take apart to get everything hooked up, and how long are the hoses when done? Since a shop had the cluster out to fix a few things, I lost my defroster airflow, and I'd rather not pay them a(nother) bunch of money...

    Coldmaster AC

    T That's a slant. LA is about $150-180.

What. The Bouchillon piece and your link are about the same price.

    Coldmaster AC

Just found that thread, and spent my entire dinner break at work reading it. The more I see, the more appealing this company looks. And...they have a compact (~15x12x6) evaporator box, which might be nice in a crowded A-body. Bouchillon (4731 or 4733) has compressor mounts, and all the other...

    Coldmaster AC

Anyone have any experience with this company? They're in Florida and claim 30 years in business...and the parts seem little different from the $2500+ kits. Anyone done business with Coldmaster? A/C for antique cars | Coldmaster | USA

Excellent. Time to upgrade the cooling system.

    Fan dimensions

Found a 7 blade V8 Aspen fan. Should work ...right?

    Fan dimensions

    Thank you. V8 Duster would have a 5-blade? Will a 7-blade work?
  19. Jarlaxle

    Fan dimensions

Mine is DEFINITELY not a factory fan. Looks like a cheap eBay special-smaller diameter than the shroud, and roars like an airplane.
  20. Jarlaxle

    Fan dimensions

Ok, this is a weird one. 73 Duster, originally 318/3-speed, no AC. Currently has what looks like a factory shroud, but with a cheezy fixed fan. OE fan is gone. Anyone know what diameter I need? The PN would be awesome-guy locally has several, but...well, Chrysler used A LOT of different fans. I...

    Cooling issue on highway

I've seen high-speed overheating from insufficient air flow-albeit usually on trucks and 4x4s with stuff obstructing the grille.

    Putting A/C in a formerly-A/C car

I can't imagine the system is that different 74-75. @Princess Valiant your inbox is full.

    Putting A/C in a formerly-A/C car

I have the same chance of managing that as I have of flapping my arms and soaring through the air.

    Putting A/C in a formerly-A/C car

Have a part list? I'm not worried about hoses-the local NAPA makes them. I'd be fine with an original system, but getting it and having it installed would probably cost a fortune. There is. All A-bodies (and almost all RWD Mopars) use a different firewall stamping for A/C and non-A/C...

    Putting A/C in a formerly-A/C car

That would ALSO cost more than an aftermarket system. :(
  26. Jarlaxle

    Putting A/C in a formerly-A/C car

Thanks, but I'm not sure how practical that would be, and just shipping it would probably cost as much as an aftermarket system. THAT helps! That looks like EXACTLY what I might need! Worst case, I can get hoses and hard lines made locally, if I need to...just need dimensions, which shouldn't...

    Putting A/C in a formerly-A/C car

Title says most of it...late (74-6) Duster, factory A/C car, pretty much everything except the under-dash unit is gone. In a perfect world, I would prefer the factory system...but I know that hunting down everything needed would be very difficult, probably expensive, and take forever. But...will...

    Heat versus AC/heat box interchange

It is: as I recall, all Mopar RWD cars from the 60s to M-bodies use a different stamping for A/C and non-A/C firewalls. (The exception may be late A/C-delete C bodies, I'm not sure.) You could always...cut a piece from anon-A/C parts car and epoxy it over the stock firewall. :wtf: (Yes, I...

    Cooling issue on highway

Junkyard and a tape measure. There are dozens of sizes available. The blades certainly flex...and I wonder what that Chinese fan might do at 7500rpm. (I'd expect nothing good.) I drove vehicles that ran 220 degrees with no knock sensors.
