    Bullitt wheel information

Yes they do have the pockets between lugs so that would be an option. I bet the ridge reamer would work great being that the wheels are aluminum and the needed material removal is minimal. That's a really good idea.

    Duster with torque thrust wheels

These pictures aren't the greatest but here are 17 x 8 2005 Mustang Bullitt wheels on my 73. I actually prefer real AR D's in a 15" as far as looks go but I'm too cheap to buy them custom with the offset I need so I went with the Mustang rims as an alternative. They were not just a simple...

    Bullitt wheel information

That's exactly what I tried to find for a few years. Something 3.21 or 3.23 as I'm afraid 3.55 might be a little much. The 27" tall rear tires will help some. If I really don't like the extra revs, I think I'll be able to fit 28" tall tires when I have to get new ones.

    Bullitt wheel information

I'm using the Jeep axle as I was able to purchase it cheap and it already has 3.55 gears. Every F or B axle I found had 2.76 at best which is what I have now in the 7 1/4. You are correct, about an inch less axle width would allow using the +30 all around.

    Bullitt wheel information

I'm posting this all in one place for those that might be considering using these wheels. I realize the look is not for everyone. I actually prefer the deeper dish of the older mags myself but, for the money, I think these worked out pretty well. They are factory 17 x 8 Ford wheels off of a...

    Tire date code

Kind of late with this. Hankook makes a 245/60r14 but they are fairly expensive. I had a set of Hankook Kinergy tires on my Duster that were reasonably priced and did everything I needed them to do but the largest offered in that style was 225/70R14.

    Rallye Wheels

    14 x 5.5 is 3.75 backspace. 14 x 6 is 4.0 backspace.

Wheel studs and spacers with Bullitt rims

Yes, they are off of a 2005 which, I believe, is when they went to the 45mm offset. They are going to fit really well in the rear with the rear axle that I have. The 5.72 bs was not going to be enough on the rear.

Wheel studs and spacers with Bullitt rims

Thanks for the info. That looks really good. Unfortunately, the rims I have are 6.27 bs so I've currently made .672 thick spacers to get to 5.6 bs. I may be able to shorten those spacers by close to an 1/8" later if I want to. I started looking around on Mustang forums and the late-model...

Wheel studs and spacers with Bullitt rims

Yeah, from what I've read the 96 up are preferred but I don't think I'll ever hurt it with my 318. I think the newer rears are more likely to have a limited-slip, also. I don't run my car that hard. I'm too cheap to break stuff. LOL

Wheel studs and spacers with Bullitt rims

Just rough measurements but the 8 1/4" pinion looks to be shifted towards the passenger side about 3/4". The 7 1/4 currently under the car looks to be closer to 1". I think that will be close enough to not cause problems. Of course, I will have to cut the Jeep perches off and replace them and...

Wheel studs and spacers with Bullitt rims

The 30mm offset would be perfect on the front which would be a wheel up to 2004. The 30mm offset would fit without any spacer or, at worst, a very small one. The 05 up wheels that I have are 45mm offset which is a 6.272 backspace and apparently Ford also changed the spokes somewhat so I don't...

Wheel studs and spacers with Bullitt rims

I've have already searched extensively on my issue and I'm hoping to find additional info/advice. I'm using a set of oem Ford Bullitt rims on my Duster. 17 x 8 +45mm offset all around. On the front I'm going to have to run a .672 thick spacer to get to the magic 5.6 backspace dimension needed...

    17" versus 14" tires

I actually was looking at a set of wheels just like yours yesterday but I and the family had decided it was too much black. However, those look awesome on that car, so I may have to rethink.

    17" versus 14" tires

I honestly prefer the look of 15's but I can't find a 15" torque thrust style rim that I like that has the backspacing I need to fit the tires under the car how I would like. I should say I can't find any that I'm willing to pay the price for. With 17's, it seems easier to keep the fronts away...

    17" versus 14" tires

I am assuming that even "bottom of the barrel" 17" tires will handle far better than any 14" tire due to the shorter sidewall and the ability to fit more tire width under the car? The 17" look has grown on me over the years and now that I have a decent suspension under the car, I'm wanting to...

    American Muscle "Mustang" wheels

Unfortunately, the rims and tires I found were not what I thought so I didn't end up getting them. Still looking for the "perfect" combo. Thanks for all the replies.

    American Muscle "Mustang" wheels

I've found a good deal on a set of "Bullitt" knockoff wheels and tires sold by American Muscle. They are 17 x 8 with 30mm offset. Can anyone tell me if these have the same clearance issues on 73-up front discs as the factory Ford Bullitt wheels? I'm also wondering if I'll be looking at...

    Torque thrust D and wilwood

Just FYI, I know you said that you are stuck on Torque Thrust D, but just wanted to make sure that you know about the Vision Legend 141. They offer 15 x 7 in 3.7 or 4.25 backspace and a 15 x 8 in 3.75 or 4.5 backspace. I also am a sucker for the D's but their back-spacing choices stink, at...

14" torq thrust with 10.87 bbp front discs

Does anyone know if a 14" VN215 or VN105 Torque Thrust will clear the caliper on the 73 up disc brakes. Currently running 14 x 5.5 factory rallys which are 3.75 back-spacing and clear fine.

    15 x 6 Torque Thrust D on the front of 73 Duster

Do you have 6" wide rims and do you know their back-spacing dimension?

    15 x 6 Torque Thrust D on the front of 73 Duster

I've wore out the search function trying to find someone who has used a 15 x 6 with 3.66 backspacing on the front of a 73 duster with the 73-up big bolt pattern disc brakes. Looking to run a 205/65 R15 tire, so obviously not real wide and trying to stick to about 25.5 tall. I'm currently...

Will 14x6 trim rings fit on a 14x5.5 rallye

Pretty late answering this but I just saw it. Yes they will fit but you will have about an 1/8" gap between the back of the trim ring and the outside of the rim. I've got 5.5's on the front of my Duster. I notice it a little but I don't think the average person would. Hope this helps.
