Reminds me of a similar situation.
When I was 19, 35yrs ago, I drove some friends to an amusement part 3hrs each way in my 67 charger. On the way back I was cruising at 100-110 mph.
The next day pulling out of my driveway the right tie rod fell out.
Actually it started being built like 3+ decades ago.I seen it racing on central ave in Yonkers NY in the 1980s .
License plates were “NUKE GM”.
There was an Unofficial police slowdown due to contract negotiations and for a short time street racing was out of control
I have the original 392 W2. It was stored on Long Island after being freshened by Barton like 13 yrs ago. It was shrink wrapped and under a wheel barrel for a while and got water in #1 cylinder and needed a sleeve. I swapped out the rods with Molnar and I am putting a 6-71 on it.
I added a leaf to my dart. Got them from Jegs, or summit, for a small pickup truck, I think. Did one side at a time with the rear and springs in the car. Lifted it quite a bit. They were cheap, like 25-30 bucks
Just got mine today and will be mocking them up on my 66 Dart soon. Just so there is no confusion .... I got these early, knowing I will have to locate and weld on the shock mount myself. Badart told me they will be sold with the mounts fully welded. ...
you can just add a leaf. I did it to a dart. I found a ADD A LEAF in jegs or summit that was for a small pickup. It was the correct width (2 1/2 inches I think) and the length worked out to be in the middle with 2 leafs above and 2 below. It gave the car 1 1/2 to 2 inches lift.
