I have a 68-70 340 dual point distributor that was rebuilt and never ran.I had it for sale on here for $85 a couple months ago but it did'nt sell at the time so it's still available at that price plus shipping.

I'm pretty sure the problem will be with the switch although the grounding of the socket should be verified by running a temporary wire from the socket to a bare metal part which is solidly attatched to the car body. The brake and turn signal circuit use the same wire from the turn signal...

If your other brake light works then the fuse for the brake lights is fine. If the turn signal works then the wiring and socket are ok as they use the same wire from the turn signal switch. The problem is most likely in the turn signal switch itself.

that does sound like a problem with the circuit board and you're on the right track to check it with an ohmmeter.Might be cheaper to find a used gauge cluster and swap the board over to yours.

BAT to SOL should do the trick get it turning over if the starter is good.
