    Annoying Speedometer Noise at Cluster

WD-40 is a horrible lubricant... not helpful on a speedo cable. I like to use a light-weight grease (white lithium grease or something) Even powdered graphite can be used.....

    Stubborn starting question...

I think Waggin is right on! Did you check the gap on the points? I'd clean them with a points file, then set the gap... drive it home, and then swap out the points system for electronic ignition! I had an Anglia when I was younger that would do that. It would run fine... then start idling a bit...

Jerk and stall when put into gear?

no acceleration, and constant backfires as you try to drive it sounds like it could be tuneup or also accelerator pump in the carb. With the engine turned off, and the air cleaner off, if you operate the trottle, do you see a squirt of gas in the carb? When yo urebuilt the carb, did you make...

Poll for all you wrench turners

"Bole right on" does not necessarily mean all the bolt holes line up and everything clears.... it would be nice if it did but...... Repop parts are some of the worst. I bought a washer reservoir for my barracuda, 2 screw holes, how hard is that to get right? well, one of them lined up! So, I...

904 vs 727 fit in an early A

I had the same questions about going to a 727 in my 69 barracuda. I have a 904 in it now that started making a noise when going into 2nd. (maybe just a band adjustment?) but I have a 727 sitting on the floor, Is the 727 a lot more $$ to build? I would assume just a normal rebuild on the 2 and...

D60 rear and 727 trans back to life

nice to see progress and be that far huh?!? Is that your first auto trans rebuild? I need to tear into a 727 and see what I have... either that or pull my 904 out and see why it has started making a noise shifting into 2nd.... Did you use a book for the trans? If so, which one and how did you...

Anybody done a custom cluster for Early A??

my son in law has a custom odometer in his... it goes backwards!! I think someone rebuilt it and put the wrong odometer numbers in it... we'll be pulling it out soon and swapping the odo out with the one in his spare speedo.

    headers

those Dynomax are blackjack headers, I believe they are the same ones Mopar perf sells (except the summit ones are ceramic coated). I had them on my 69 barracuda and they hung real low... however, that was 10-12 years ago so, things could have changed....

what ive been doing this winter.

nice work... I'd paint the air cleaner top to match the valve covers... but then again, I have 3 of those air cleaners, I paint them to match the engine color, then polish the top of the ribs and the lip around the outside, it looks pretty good. PCV works better on the pass side other than...

    problem from the cold?

clean ALL connections at the battery, and the ground, and on the solenoid.... (follow your large wires from both terminals on the battery and clean both ends... and what they connect to). Battery needs to be fully charged to test properly... check voltage at the battery with nothing on...

    Cheap Early-A's that got away!

when I was 17 or so, I painted a Mazda truck in trade for a 66 Barracuda Formula S. (engine had a huge hole i nthe side of the block due to lack of antifreeze). pulled the engine out, sold for $50 (stupid stupid I know) and bought a 318 for 60 and away we went. I traded that car for a 57 Chev...

Just bought my '66 Dart and have some questions!

for an interior heater, I use a metal 5-gallon can (like a lacquer thinner can, which I have plenty of) I cut the top off and make a cross out of scrap chunks of 2x4. Mount a cheap light fixture to it, (cheapest one you can find at the hardware store) add a cord and a light bulb, poke 4 holes...
