    Remove overspray

A clay bar can usually remove it, but, I had some overspray on my rear quarter after I painted my trunk and the clay bar didn't work that well. It wasn't really noticeable so I left it like that for a while. I tried some polishing compound and it came off.

    Under coating help!!!!!!!!!!!

Might be good to give it a coat of primer or paint first. If the undercoating chips or peels off, you would have another layer to protect the metal. I think I heard that some undercoatings can create more rust by trapping water if it peels or gets chipped. Just make sure they are all compatible.

    paint problem need help please

The clay bar shouldn't really have any pressure on it. It should be doing the work for you. I just knead it frequently when it flattens out and give the area a few passes.

    Windshield washer pump motor

I just got new washer bottle and hoses. My original motor still works but when I tested it with water, it leaked out the little weep hole in addition to the main hose connection where it is supposed to come out. Does this mean the seals inside are pretty much gone and I need a new motor? I...

    Removing Window Trim

When mine was at the glass shop for the rear window, I believe they used a tool that looks like the one with an arrow. It was tricky they and took some time because they didn't want to damage the paint. I think they had to press down on the chrome trim pretty hard while pushing the tool under...

Attaching new wire to original antenna

Thanks. I took it out a while back. Was just a small section and couldn't join it to the new one. I don't remember a connector tho or I prob would have saved it. Might just try to electrical tape it again. I got one AM station to come in. I compared it to a new antenna I bought at the auto...

Attaching new wire to original antenna

I guess the wire was originally directly attached there. So there isn't an adapter that exists!

Attaching new wire to original antenna

Having trouble finding the right connector for the ol' antenna. The original wire wasn't completely there and had been cut. I ran a new wire from the radio to the inner fender. The problem is that no one has the right size adapter to plug into the original antenna base. The adapter I bought is...

    Paint will not dry

Merry Christmas! It could be that the temperature was not in the ideal range wherever they were painted. They might just need more time to cure. If it was an enamel paint and it was sprayed too thick it could take forever or may not dry right. What type of paint was it?

To pay or not to pay, that is the question

If you have the shop paint it, I would have them prime it too. I wouldn't want them blaming me if the paint didn't adhere or lay right since the right prep work is really important.

    the goopy stuff

Wow really, you made some mopars? A month or so ago I was trying to imagine how exactly they applied the seam sealer and what they used. I re finished my trunk and used seam sealer from the auto paint store. I used a wide brush and a piece of cardboard. And yeah, I made sure it looked...

    Painted the trunk

Thanks! Yeah it was pretty messy before and needed a good amount of cleaning a prep. I kept putting the trunk off for a while because my spray gun needed a good cleaning too. I will try to get more pics by Friday when I get more done.

    Painted the trunk

I painted the trunk! Not perfect but looks almost new now. Sorry, didn't take a before photo but it basically had some rust and pitting in a couple areas. So spent a few days prepping it. My dad and I put new seam sealer in it to fix some areas. We purposely made it look sloppy to match what...

    engine compartment paint

Well it would depend on how the paint is formulated (single stage or two stage). I just got more paint mixed to paint my trunk and the engine compartment. It is single stage so it dries glossy. A clear is always good but just make sure it sticks to the paint under it.

    Seam Sealer

When I put seam sealer on, I put it directly on the metal. The paint supply said this and also it looked like the factory did that as well when I pulled up some of the old seam sealer. It probably wont make that big of a difference. It prob depends on the kind you use. Mine was in a calk cartridge.

Trim Clips for front and rear glass

    Seam Sealer

I just touched up my trunk with seam sealer. I'm forgot the brand but could check. I got it at a local auto paint supply. It is supposed to be paintable but I still got it in black in case it chips off.

    Rear window leak 71 dart

Mine was leaking from those areas also. The trunk would get water in it. I almost have them fixed after going to the glass shop a couple times. First, they just put a bead of sealant from the outside just under where the weatherstrip meets the glass. It still leaked a good amount. So on the...
