    Speedo cable replacement?

    Just replaced the speedo gear (and adapter seals) in my Scamp w/ 4.30 gears. Bought a 44 tooth gear from Cope and the seals. Unfortunately the more odd ball gears are expensive ($70+ vs $20 or so). Here's a diagram of the adapter. Your leak is most likely the small oil seal...but the O-ring...

    If you put a manual valve body in. Get a reverse manual. They are simple and work better (IMO). I had a reworked OEM valvebody in mine that was a forward manual and it was so-so. Have since installed a Cope reverse manual and it's awsome. 1-2 shift is neck snapping. 2-3 is nice and firm. Also...

    rebuilt 904 and no drive

    I'd check your bands for adjustment first. Then move to the valvebody. I'd expect it to be a valvebody issue myself...but kinda hard to tell forsure.
