    23 or 18 spline?

I'm building a 600 hp 416 and went with the 18 spline. I also added a QT bellhousing just to be safe.

1968 Dart sudden rear end noise.

Jack it up and pull the drums. You might get lucky and there's a spring in the drum that bounced around in there and locked the drum? You gotta start somewhere.

Dana 60 in my 73 duster?

I get it, but that size is almost non-existent as you are finding. Fifteen inch tires are much more common and may even be cheaper in the long run. You think you're having a tough time finding 14 inch tires, try finding a decent 13" tire for an early Dart. Mostly trailer tires, but I did find...

Dana 60 in my 73 duster?

@72bluNblu can tell you the biggest 15" tire you can fit in a stock wheel well.

Dana 60 in my 73 duster?

I would decide your wheel and tire combo first and then cut the rear end to fit. That's just my two cents

What transmission are you talking about? Floor shift or column?

    67 dart rear end modification

When we mini tubbed my 67 this is exactly what we found. I had Strange build my S60 four inches narrower on each side (8 total) so that I could fit a 15X10 with 3 1/2" bs.

    727 deep steel pan

I run a deep stamped steel pan on my Tom Hand built trans. Don't forget the Mopar gasket. It's pricey but it DOES NOT leak and is reusable. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0046NPNMW/?tag=fabo03-20

Who's the Mopar Automatic Transmission Authority?

Another vote for @VOETOM He built my transmission and I am lucky enough to call him a neighbor and a friend. I'd get his book and see if it doesn't answer all of your questions. Plus, he's an A body guy!

    Help w/ a Hurst Auto/Stick Please?

I'm trying to buy this for my Dart for a more period-correct look. I don't know much about it, but I believe it is an Auto/Stick II and is cable-operated. I'm looking to replace my Pro-Matic II that's in there now, or at least just use the older cover on my current shifter. Does anyone have any...

    What budget torque converter?

I was lucky enough to get one of the last converters built by Kris at Continental Converters and he was having a hard time getting cores back then. I got a great used converter here on FABO and sent it to him. Kris knew everything about my build and made a converter made for my Dart. One of the...

DANA S60 REAR ANY THOUGHTS ?

I thought this thread was about S60 rear ends which is the Strange 60? I highly recommend them if you can afford one. Nothing cooler than this cover peeking out from underneath your gas tank.

    Transmission and converter questions??

Start it up in nuetral and let it run for a minute or two. Then I'd put it through the gears with your foot on the brake. I'd make sure that your kick down linkage is adjusted properly and then you should be good to go. I was told no break in procedure after the first couple of minutes.

    727 transmission gasket

I paid $30 for the Mopar gasket with the inserts to prevent overtightening. Torqued the bolts correctly. Leaks out at a different spot now. lol

    Some Clutch-Flite Info!

I was walking a swap meet last summer and a guy had three of them for sale and that's all he brought to the swap meet. One was complete and the other two needed parts and pieces. I can't remember the prices he was asking but it was over $1000.

    Dana

I'm running an Eaton TrueTrac in my Strange 60. It's been very quiet so far and while it hasn't been on a track yet, we've beat on it pretty hard on the street with no problems.

    Trans Fluid to Use?

We have a member here who wrote a book on the 727 and is pretty knowledgable on it. He recently rebuilt my transmission using all the good parts that he had stashed around his basement. When I eagerly asked him what fluid I should run, he told me to go get a case of the cheapest Dexron III that...

    Different Gear?

Summit Racing has the sure grip brand new for $400. That and a set of 355 gears should wake your car up pretty well. A custom converter would be my next step. Then hang on! Mopar Performance Sure-Grip Differentials P4529273

How to tell if there’s fluid in Torque Converter

I leave my Dart in nuetral with the park brake set when it's going to be sitting for a few weeks. When it starts the pump starts filling the converter immediately.

What gear ratio for a street car w/occasional track use?

I have an almost identical set up as the OP with the exception of an automatic transmission and I'm running 3.54 gears and 28" MT drag radials. I would love to change to a 3.91 or higher rear gear, but I have to drive at least thirty minutes on the highway to get anywhere in this town and the...
