    Demon dash rebuild

Thanks Aaron. I am trying to work the loan of a trailer to bring the car over. Last year was kind of pricey. Jack

    Demon dash rebuild

After years of adding gauges and cutting holes for them in my dash I decided to rebuild the whole thing. I mean it was ugly. I started last year with a conversion to an Intellitronix digital dash. This spring I decided to recover my dash pad. I'm cheap and didn't want to pay the $500 to $1000...

What Seats are you all running?

No, I put the front buckets in. I don't know if the rear would fit. Jack

What Seats are you all running?

I know, a little late to the party but here is my 2 cents. I picked up a set of 2009 Mustang GT leather seats at the local pick and pull. They fit perfect although you do have to get a little creative with the mounting bolts. You also get all the power options. I disconnected the in seat airbag...

    Any bucket seats 73 duster

I used 2009 Mustang GT leather seats. They look like they belong in the Demon. I hooked up the power options but left the airbags disconnected. Here's the link. New seats are in! Jack

The dash pad was by far the hardest. LOL Jack

    Built my own dash pad

Great job Mopar-Man. It looks like you used the same vinyl that I did. Great stuff to work with. I did a little test on some of mine with a heat gun and it did not shrink that much. I hope you have better luck than I did. I did my door panels with the same vinyl and they turned out great. Good...

    Dashpad and door panels done

I was lucky and had a spare one sitting around. As far as taking one off the dash, I have found that if you take the instrument panel and the glove box out of the car they are much easier to get out and there is a lot less cursing. You can reach in and get at the nuts through the empty spots...

    Dashpad and door panels done

That's what mine was. $22 a yard and stretched in all directions. Because I was doing the door panels as well I got away with 2 meters of the 54 inch roll. Jack

    Dashpad and door panels done

Yup, that was the trick. Making sure it was all smooth when done. We did it in different ways, but like they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Jack

    Dashpad and door panels done

It wasn't all that hard to get the old vinyl off it was so brittle. Most of it I just peeled it off with my fingers and the rest I used a butter knife to pry it up. I think they relied on the heat to make it adhere to the foam when it was made and over the years that bond let go. Jack

    Dashpad and door panels done

I finished up the pad and moved to the panels. The panels were torn and had a vinyl paint on them. I wanted to keep the pattern on the panels so I decided to lay the new vinyl over the old and use contact cement in the valleys only to see if the pattern would stay. I lucked out and the panels...

    Dashpad and door panels done

A few weeks before Christmas I started revamping my interior. The pad and panels were in very bad shape so I thought I would try recovering them myself. I went out and bought some black automotive vinyl and some contact cement. I had a plan. I stripped the old plastic off the pad and was...

    Do it yourself interiors!

I am in the process of redoing my interior right now as well. I have the dash pad and one door panel done. So far so good. I used the ultra heavy duty contact cement as an adhesive. I am also leaving the old vinyl in place and only gluing the melted seams on the face of the door panels then...

I got them. They look really good. Now I just have to find time to install them. Jack

2005 to 2009 Mustang GT bucket seats

I can get a pair of 2009 black leather bucket seats in exceptional condition, dirt cheap. I was wondering if anybody had tried to install these in a Demon or Duster. They look like they will fit but I am not 100% sure. It sure would be nice to have some input from somebody that has tried these...

Why is my dusters glove compartment full of water?

My guess is the windshield seal. There is a small indent in the body just above the glovebox. Sometimes it will not seal with the gasket and you have to use the sealant in a tube to get it sealed. Ask me how I know. Jack

    Dash & rear cover

I used a satin finish paint on the dash. You don't want a flat or gloss as flat paint is to grainy and gloss will be to shiney. For the package tray I used a piece of black vinyl and it worked real good. Jack

    package tray

I had to replace mine in the Demon. I saw the prices and said I can do better. I used the old one as a template and cut a piece of 3/16 merantie board. I then used contact cement to attach a piece of black vinyl. Total cost = $15. As far as I'm concerned it looks great and is easier to keep...

radio and glove box trim ?

I found the same thing a week ago and grabbed it becaouse it was almost free. The problem with putting it on my Demon was the Demon dash has no holes in it for the pins on the trim to go through. My guess is that you would be in the same boat. Jack

Can somebody post a pic of where the Shoulder strap attach's on a 1972 Demon or Duster with bucket seats. The guy who installed my headliner and I both forgot to mark where it was. Jack
