    Cam choice for 383

I need a bit of help deciding on which cam to put into my 383 that's in my dart sport. As it sits currently it has this cam in it; 21-228-4(Single Bolt) - Xtreme Energy™ Hi-lift Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts And with that cam it made 460 hp and torque in my indy headed 383, but last year at...

    Performer RPM modification

So as my 383 build is progressing I have run into a bit of a problem. With the Indy heads and valley plate the EGR crossover on the intake hits the valley plate, and won't let the intake anywhere near the heads, has anyone run into this problem before? I have no problem cutting it off, but if it...

    Crank pulley help

Does anyone here run an ATI Super Damper on their big block and if you do what pulley are you running on the crank because the one I've been using is way off (about 1/2") and am wondering where you got yours, for reference it is a 2 grove pulley that is about 3 1/8" tall and came off a cast...

On a side note did any of you guys have to remove your heater to help with clearance of the valve cover?

    Indy head questions

It's a .030 over block, the 4.25 gasket would intrude into the the cylinder. I didn't think that was wanted.

    Indy head questions

I would like to use them but I don't think that they make 4.28 bore mopar head gasket, they make a 4.25 and the next size I find is 4.375. And just two of the head bolts are longer? So I should just be able to order just those, that'd be nice because it's all ARP hardware up top already and...

    Indy head questions

So I pulled the trigger and got a set of Indy heads and I am now starting to put the engine together, and I have a few questions. #1 when installing the valley plate do you guys put any rtv or the like along the head/intake edges of the plate, where it gets captured by the heads? #2 do you have...

    383 combo advice

I think eventually it'll be a getting a roller, but we're getting off topic here. I would like to know which one you guys would recommend, the Trick Flows or the Indys? I plan to buy them from Hughes Engines, would I still need to take them to a machine shop then? Sorry for all the questions...

    383 combo advice

And that's what I'm looking for, because the long term goal is to swap the heads onto a 440 that has yet to be built. So I want the potential for more.

    383 combo advice

Are the Trick Flows that much better? I always thought that the Indys were the top of the line, plus the Indys have a 3cc smaller combustion chamber. Which ones have better potential for room to grow so to speak? Heck will they even work on a 383? In one of the other threads it showed the...

    383 combo advice

I haven't checked it with an caliper, but I'd say within .010. My hope was to run e85 but if the math I did is close, it would be around 10.2 to 1 compression. Which wouldn't dictate running ethanol.

    383 combo advice

After much time and money I have the bottom end of my 383 back together and was looking to give it a little bit more power, and was looking for your advice if you think the whole package will work well, and maybe what it'll produce. The bottom end is a .030 over '69 383 that has the stock...

    383 oh what to do

So I have recently had a massive setback/failure happen to me and my little 383. I was at the track and one of my pushrods bent and let one of the lifters out of its bore and thus starved the bottom end of pressurized oil, long story short, cylinder 1&2 rods are discolored and the bearing in #1...
