I just welded my flapper to the open position. The rattling was bugging me.

Where does the dashpot on the carb come into effect. It is a 4 speed car. Is the purpose of the dashpot to delay the closing of the throttle blades when suddenly releasing throttle to prevent engine stalling?

I like everything about the MagnaFlow minus the sound when you let go of throttle at high rpm in low gear. Like a popping sound. Like a dam Harley. Lol

Hey guys I got my 2 1/2" exhaust system finished with MagnaFlow muffler. The car is a 68 383 cuda 4 speed stock exhaust manifolds. I took her out for a ride and ran through the gears and I get lots of back rap and poping when letting off the throttle. So I added a H pipe lastnight it helped...

I had the same problem when I built my down pipes so I made a good deep dimple. Now a have a good 1/2" clearence.

So the 2.5" should be the correct ones for my car? Thanks gor the tip also..

These are the ones I ordered. 383 with stock manifolds. Hope they are correct. I didn't have the exact diameter of my old ones when I was at the speed shop.

Hey guys looking For a good collector gasket for a 1968 stock 383 exhaust manifold. Seams like all the ones I use start leaking. And flanges seam to be clean an straight. Thanks

That's strange mine have a 18" case and 24" overall. Do you remember if you could see rate through them when you looked into the inlet and out the outlet? That's what mine are like and I find them to loud..

I was thinking of water testing but was kinda rushed. For a little tip, After I painted the exhaust with VHT high heat paint to cure the paint I placed a heat gun in each section of pipe. It worked great

Well I got the exhaust all welded up and installed. I had to do some custom work to the drivers side headpipe for torsion bar clearance. I now have 1/2" gap between bar and pipe.. should be good??

I got the complete system tack welded in place. I have 5 or 6 butt joints to weld. I Grounded a slight point at both end of the pipe for the weld, and tried to get it as close as possible. " doing my best laying on my back with the car on stands. What are you holding back Rusty?

Well ..due to fast delivery time i went ahead and ordered the flow master 2.5" UFIT universal kit #15936. I did the flow master 3" UFIT universal kit on my 68 Dart it went pretty good but I had a cell in the trunk and I had headers. The new 2.5" kit will be going on a 68 Cuda with stock...

383. I have the old exhaust but it looks like its 2" - 2.25". If I get stuck I might use them and add adaptors to the new 2.5" system for the rest off the year.

Hey guys anyone know if summit or jegs offer headpipes or manifold down pipes? Going to order a 2.5" exhaust system from jegs but they only offer header back kits and I am running stock manifolds. I might get stuck making my own but I do not have a pipe bender... thanks

Hey guys looking into getting a premade exhaust system for my 68 Cuda. I was looking at jegs part# 555 30501. It states to use with hooked headers. But I have stock manifolds. Just wondering if the is enough pipe to connect to the manifolds? Anyone using this system with stock manifolds thanks
