    Demon rear end noise

Have you ever considered just running a spool in the diff? It's cheap and will never wear out or break. You might have to upgrade to a 35 spline Moser (or other) axle but axles are cheaper than $950 sure grips! It'd be an install and forget deal... except when you're making tight turns when the...

    904tranny/slant6 bolt to a 360?

Big block and small block are different as well BTW.

    3.55's

Try junkyards with Dodge Dakotas... they came factory equipped with 8.25" rears. Also most Jeep Cherokees but I'm not sure they ever had 3.55s... mostly 3.07s in 4.0L Jeeps and 4.10s in 2.5L versions.

Enough trans fluid inc oil cooler?

Anyone know off the top of their head what the capacity of a 727 and convertor is? Just put my Demon together and want enough fluid in the tranny for the engine break in to fill the convertor, cooling lines and auxiliary cooler without completely draining the pan after the car is started.

    Oddball u-joint needed!

Excellent advice guys! Mine are inside clips, heading to NAPA tomorrow to grab a couple. Thanks! :)

    Oddball u-joint needed!

So I'm down to the short strokes on my drivetrain swap and have hit a minor snag. The yoke on my "Duster 340" driveshaft is about 3" or so wide but the yoke on my 8 3/4" pig is much larger, say 3.5" or bigger. That leaves me needing a u-joint that's wider in one direction than the other, like a...

    Inner axle seals

My theory is that most axles as old as the ones in our cars will have a slight groove worn into them where the seal rides... if you added a second seal outboard of the original one, it would be riding on a fresh piece of axle and therefore would potentially have no leakage. No?

    Inner axle seals

Since inner seal leakage is fairly common on the 8 3/4" axle due to wear on the axle shafts, I was wondering if it would be possible to install two seals in each tube to double your leakage protection. The first seal in would rest in the normal location and the second seal would butt up...

    Park neutral switch

Anyone know if the park/neutral switch from a 904 is the same as a 727? I'm still collecting parts for my 225/904 to 360/727 swap and am hoping some of the small parts will interchange. Thanks!

    8 3/4 Torque specs?

Anyone know what the torque specs are for the following: - Axle shaft to housing flange nuts - Pig to housing nuts Thanks!

    external balance 904 converter

Assuming your externally weighted convertor is from a 360, it should be a bolt up and go deal with the stock neutral balance flexplate. The flexplate/crankshaft bolts are not equally spaced so there's only one way the flexplate will bolt on and have all 6 holes line up. Pretty much a no-brainer...

    Cooler line fittings

What fittings are used in the (A727) transmission case for the cooler lines? Looks like 3/8ths NPT to my untrained eye. Also, what is the other end? Imperial flare? Thanks in advance!

    /6 904 to A727 question

I'm swapping an 8 3/4 in as well so I've already budgeted for the driveshaft shortening/rebalancing. :)

    /6 904 to A727 question

I'm doing a 360/727 swap into a 225/904 72 Demon. Can I reuse the existing tranny crossmember/mount or does this need to be replaced? Thanks!

    Drive shaft length question

Any idea what the driveshaft length is for a 340|727|8 3/4 equipped Dodge Demon? Also, is the measurement from the front of the yoke to the rear u-joint or the center of front u-joint to rear?

A-body 8 3/4 with big bolt pattern axles?

Good to know, too bad my car's a SBP A-body! Still means that parts should be very common in junkyards. :)

A-body 8 3/4 with big bolt pattern axles?

I measured flange to flange and it's 55 1/2", spring perches are 46" center to center. I've begun considering having the housing narrowed to A-body specs and buying a set of custom axles from Strange or Moser to put in. I think that'd be the smartest plan for the longterm. I'm in no hurry...

A-body 8 3/4 with big bolt pattern axles?

The saga continues: Had a knowledgable friend come over and it turns out the housing I picked up is from an E-body, not an A-body as I'd been told by the seller. I'm not overly worried though... my Demon's fat rear quarters can take the extra width... it's only a matter of 2 inches or so per...

A-body 8 3/4 with big bolt pattern axles?

That's very possible. Regardless, I'm happy that I don't have to have them redrilled for 4.5"! Too bad I can't use the 7 1/4 backing plates since I happen to have a set in my car that I soon won't be needing... ;)

A-body 8 3/4 with big bolt pattern axles?

I picked up an A-body 8 3/4 housing and axles tonight for $200 and was surprised to discover that the axles were big bolt pattern. Can I assume this is a 1973 diff then? I think that was the final year for the A 8 3/4 and the first year for the big bolt pattern... I think. It's missing the...
