    Rear shock mounting hardware

RogerRamRod, Well I would like to use the shocks I have and I do not think they will work with original hardware, not sure. Additionally, I do not believe they are repop the upper studs yet. Do you by chance know the dimensions of the original upper/lower mounting studs?

    Rear shock mounting hardware

Don't need them for ride height. Used just like air-shocks with out the air. Just looking for mounting options. The original mount hardware was replaced before I purchased car.

    Rear shock mounting hardware

Ok, I'm trying to mount a set of Gabriel 43181 shocks on the back of my 74 Duster to replace the set that was on it when I baught the car. I ordered the new set and found that the previous owner had removed the metal/rubber eye ring and replaced with just a rubber bushing. I'm trying to keep the...

Easy big fellow (lol), I genuinely was seeking some insight. Makes perfect sense and I didn't really think about it that way until you brought me to the light, thanks.

    8 3/4 housing U-bolt torque

Hello all, rebuilt the 8 3/4 rear end and starting to put it back together. I couldn't find the torque spec for the U-bolts for the housing to the spring. Little help please.

    Tie rod end torque

Hello all, I'm a little confused and need some direction. Putting the front end of the 74 Duster back together and getting some, what seems to be, conflicting info from the 74 Chrysler service manual. I'm looking for torque specs for the nuts on the tie rod ends. The manual shows 2 different...

    Steering coupler assembly

67Dart273, I did double check but I'm pretty sure that mine only goes in 1 way based on the splines lining up. There is a groove that is wider on the steering box shaft and the coupler and if they are not lined up it won't go together.

    Steering coupler assembly

Hello All, As it turns out, the little retainer clamp was the ticket!!! Like my Dad would say "It was the cats meow". Glad I double checked because I needed the 3.5 inch one.

    Steering coupler assembly

Thanks davescuda, I tried that with one clamp because I had just broke the other on something else and I wasn't patient enough to wait until I got another one. I was a little worried about the clamps flying off and banging up the paint.

    Steering coupler assembly

Well I'm definitely not impressed with the rebuild kit they are selling on e-bay as far as fit is concerned. You would think they would error on the side of caution and make them little tabs just a we bit longer. Just like displacement there is no replacement for experience, thanks guys!!! I'm...

    Offset bushing kit K7103

Does the fact that the ferrules are not offset impact the function of the bushings? So, looks like I need to order 2 sets and I just want to make sure the extra cost is worth it. Again, Thanks for the input.

    Offset bushing kit K7103

Hello all, Do the K7103 offset bushing kits come as a complete set for the car or do you have to get one set for each side? v/r Ron

    LCA wear and tolorence

rich006, Did the welding eliminate your excess play/wobble? v/r Ron

    LCA wear and tolorence

Thanks Red Fish, I'm talking about the amount of play the swivel has in the two halves of the lower control arm. It seem that the holes have been worn slightly (egged) to allow not only rotation but wobble.

    LCA wear and tolorence

Hello all, I'm working on the lower control arms of a 74 Duster and getting ready to replace the bushings. Before I do, I'm trying to determine if the lower control arm itself is worth working with. The question I have is how much play/tolorence is acceptable for the swivel/torsoin bar knuckle...

    1974 Duster Idler arm question,

Well I added the washers to take up the slack and it worked. After driving it I could tell that some of the play was gone but there still remained some. I inspected again to find that there was in fact some wobble in the arm. I went ahead and ordered a new Moog from Rockauto and will put it on...

    1974 Duster Idler arm question,

I thought the play was about 1 in. but its more like a 1/8 to a 1/4 in. If you notice two of the bushings are missing and a top and bottom washer.

    1974 Duster Idler arm question,

Well I figured out after looking at a new idler arm that the one on my car is missing the two smaller rubber/foam bushing and the washers, it does have the one thicker bushing on the bottom. The idler arm seems solid (no wobble) just moves up and down so I think I will add some washers to...

    Help verify/identify k-member on 74 Duster

Thanks, should there be shims/bushing or something between the k-member and the frame? I think it is metal to metal now.

    Help verify/identify k-member on 74 Duster

Hello all, can anyone help verify the k-member on my 74 Duster from the two images? It was a /6, non a/c car and now has a 318 from 1967 with pwr steering and drum brakes..

    1974 Duster Idler arm question,

"Does the idler arm slide up and down on the bolt or wobble up and down?" The arm slides up and down on the bolt, no wobble, thats why I wondered if there were missing shims or spacers. This does cause major movement between the connection points on the center link. Seems like the space...

    1974 Duster Idler arm question,

I’m getting my, new to me, duster ready for inspection and was checking over the steering and suspension since there was a lot of play in the wheel. Was thinking I needed to adjust the steering gear box and possibly have to change a tie rod or two. Well further inspection uncovered an issue that...
