    Have you checked to see if the tank is empty , gas probably evaporated away over the years. Does the accelerator pump spray fuel when you work the carb linkage?

    Tape measures are cheap and a valuable tool.:sign3: I go to autozone and buy their gold series batteries:blob: Switch over to a side terminal battery the connectors don't break and very seldom need cleaning.

    You are gonna get more noise and smoke without a breather installed , and it will probably sling oil out the hole too

    Buy yourself a 160 thermostat if it bothers you. 210-220 is not over heating on a vintage engine , especially if it doesn't stay there and comes back down when the thermostat opens. the thermostat may well be opening when it reaches 180 degrees but the water near the sensor may be hotter...
