    Tire monitor systems - aftermarket.

I will be in the market and have seen the same thing you have. Hard to know which is best. I need to monitor 10 tires (six on the RV, four on the trailer). I went through the same thing getting my rear view camera/monitor setup. I went wireless there, but haven't mounted the camera on the...

Where to put the air compressor?

I have two garages attached to the house. The back garage is the work area while, long term, the front garage will be used for modern driver parking. The compressor is in the front garage with pipe through the attic to an expansion tank in the back garage. No compressor noise in the back garage.

I haven't tried one of those yet. Next time I go the welding supply store I'll look at them.

    welder/welding

I haven't successfully done any outer sheet metal with it. Quite frankly my hands just aren't steady enough nor are my eyes good enough. I had a friend weld in the patch panels on the Barracuda with the car on one of his lifts. Getting the car higher would help with my hands, but he's done lots...

    welder/welding

I am self-taught, which means I don't know much. I have a Hobart Handler 140 with 75/25 gas. I recently discovered that I was running the wire WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY to fast. Slowed it down and things look much better. BUT, I still have hands that are NOT steady. I have to hold the gun with both...

    LED Shop Light Flashing

I haven't had a problem with the 4' LED shop lights. All of mine came from Costco. I have had problems with some of the LED screw in bulbs. Average life is still considerably longer than incandescents and I like the light better. Fortunately the price has come down on them.

    Numbers Matching

If you have a fender tag you can find the scheduled production date for the car. The engine will be stamped with the actual build date of the engine on the pad in front of the right head under the distributor. IF the engine build date is prior to the SPD you likely have the original engine, but...

    Recommendations for outdoor storage shed

Shop Craig's List. We had a 6x8 metal shed that we had bought for $40 several years ago. Last year I gave it away on Craig's List. The guy and his wife lifted it onto my car trailer (I was recovering from surgery). I see sheds on Craig's List fairly often. Otherwise build something. I have my...

    SCT versus random orbital sander?

I bought a SCT a few months back (Bauer from HF). It does its job very well, especially on steel I'm using to build my gates. It also makes quick work of old Bondo. It does not, however, replace a DA or orbital sander. They are for very different jobs. Pic of my new gates. I'm going to be...

What Die Grinder bit to use? Need to enlarge antenna hole in fender

The above answers make sense, but I went a completely different direction on my Barracuda. I filled the hole and bought an amplified "hidden" antenna. Similar to this one. RetroSound HPA-1 antenna

    Toolbox replacement time. Suggestions?

The new 44" is deeper than the old one. I found that out the hard way. Had an older bottom box and bought a new top last year...Had to buy a new bottom and sell the old one. Still got about what I paid for it...

    Toolbox replacement time. Suggestions?

I recently (last year) bought the 44" top and bottom from HF. I still need to organize after building my new garage, but it is a nice set of boxes. I'm not worried about a power strip in the box as I have a 12' workbench that will be on the other side of the new garage and there will be outlets...

Anyone building this transmission stand? "Nick Garage"

I used an old basketball hoop to make one.

    Where can I find this…

I replaced heater hoses on a Mercedes of some vintage 30 years ago. That car was a mix of hose and tubing. Wandering around a wrecking yard might give some solutions.

    DIY...homemade upper A-arm bushing extractor/installer

Man, sorry to hear about your mom. That's young (I'm 62). I had the fever from Covid, but the real high fever only lasted a few hours. Wasn't sure what it was because we were in a hotel and never travel with a thermometer.

    Harbor freight 25% off coupon

If you want to drop down into Fresno (if you get a chance), let me know. We'll throw something on the BBQ. We're about three miles from 99 off Shaw and about three miles from 41 off Bullard.

    Harbor freight 25% off coupon

Apparently it is a unique number. Tried to use it today and it showed as already used. Oh well, still got 15% off the top chest. Saved $64.50.

I get their emails, but I did not get the 25% coupon. I'll take this one into the store.

    Harbor freight 25% off coupon

Cool. I've been wanting to get the 44" top box, but the price went up a while back. That'll take $100+ off it.

    Harbor freight 25% off coupon

Was the email definitely from HF? They don't typically send out a coupon worth that much without restrictions. Inside track member?

    Mr. Fixit.....

My parents have three rental homes (I play handyman). Last year one of the tenants called and said the garage door wouldn't go down (I had replaced the opener not long before and reused the old sensors). I looked this problem up on the internet. Sure enough, the most common cause was the issue...

I bought a brand new Quincy four cylinder, two stage compressor a year and a half ago. I could have spent more, but this was in my budget, barely. It should outlive me...

    Left Over Hand Cleaner

My younger son played a fall baseball season at the junior college in Visalia many years ago. He's got a condition where he MUST stay hydrated so he always had a water jug with him. Jeff was a pitcher. One of the catchers kept drinking all of Jeff's water even when Jeff told him not to. Jeff...

Just normal, 3-1/2 inch or so. I won't have the head room for a lift anyway. I usually have access to one if I need to.

In my case size is restricted by the location of the bedroom window on the side of the house and the desire for RV parking beside the garage.

    Another distributor machine.

Never have been able to free up the frozen adjuster arm on the old Rotunda machine. Haven't given up, but... Today I picked up an old Sun. It's in nice shape, but has the same problem. The adjuster doesn't go up and down, BUT this one looks much easier to soak in something to get it freed up...
