Is this a Demon or a Dart? I can't tell....

Yes, that's what I was going for. Didn't realize this crowd was so literally minded. YES, I know the difference between a Dodge Demon and a Dart. LOL

Let's talk tools! What do you have? What couldn't you live without?

Dewalt 1/2 cordless impact wrench with 3/8 adapter. This will never do the big stuff like an air impact. BUT it is great for those jobs that twist your arm off with a regular ratchet (putting lug nuts on weld wheels for example), and with a delicate trigger finger this can be used in place of a...

    The "New" Dart, LoL!

Well, for anyone who doesn't remember the FIATs from the bygone days when they were sold in the US, Chrysler still has to make up for the Neon. Its going to take some work for them to build a market in the small, fuel efficient market, especially when the other manufacturers are actually...

    1957-1958 Plymouth Belvedere Fury Pictures

How about those Fuelly Heads (for a Mopar?) for hop-up parts. Or Fuelly headers as they're referred to later in the text.... I love that book, but I don't think Stephen King was much of a hot rodder. Or maybe if you put Chevy heads on a Mopar it becomes a psychotic killing machine.

    An SRT Barracuda?!?

Looks like they're planning on eurotrashing the mustang also. Muscle cars that aren't muscle cars don't sell well. Look at the late 2000s Camaro, Firebird and GTO. Despite the fact that they were the fastest musclecars maybe ever, they didn't sell well enough to be continued. Meanwhile the 05...

    A-Bodies in the snow?

Front wheel drive is just as good as four wheel drive for most of the snowfall around here. Lots of cheap FWD out there. Its a safe bet that if front wheel drive with snow tires can't get there, you don't have any business being out in it anyway.

    A-Bodies in the snow?

A couple of things will make a huge difference. 1. Snow tires. Not the old timey off road looking things, but new blizzak style tires. If its a toss up between two sizes, get the skinnier ones. Skinnier works better. Think pizza cutter. I've used these tires in the past and they have...

Motor Install with Lift Plate on Intake?

The plate, studs and intake are plenty strong to pull an engine and transmission together. x2 when you consider each one only has to support a quarter of the weight. I've probably been involved in over a hundred engine pulls with that arrangement and never had one problem, or even a damaged...

    12 Second 340

Like complete with thermoquad, cast intake, etc? Obviously the short block has to be in good shape. Getting some work done to the heads would help. I'm guessing the key would be chassis (meaning springs and shocks, front swaybar disconnected), 3.91 + gears, MT or Hoosier drag radials, cam...

Rented a "new" Challenger RT last week...

I just did a build your own and the limited slip "no spin" seems to come standard in the long feature list with the auto, but Hill Start Assist is listed on there also. Surely that doesn't come with the auto.

Rented a "new" Challenger RT last week...

I didn't check the air filter and it was hot from at least an hour on the road and an hour in traffic. I didn't air the tires down any. It was a rental so I'm sure it gets like zero maintenance. I did let it cool off with the hood up for a half hour before the 14.0 pass. It did run 100 mph...

Rented a "new" Challenger RT last week...

Hey All: I say "new" because of course, they're 4 years old now, and the one I got had clearly been put through the ringer. I was on vacation last week. The rental place just happened to have a Challenger RT available. I have to say that a lot of my initial reservations were overcome...

    Frame Mount Tiedowns

I bought a pair of tabs from Mancini for this purpose.....but I can't figure out where to put them. LOL I have had them on Mustangs in the past. I just took some of the factory brackets used to ease lifting of the engine and welded them to the frame in front of the tires. Made things way...

1970 v 2013: How the Darts Stack up

I'll take a '70 too. It is worth noting however, that the horsepower and mileage estimates for the new car are rated using a much more realistic/real-world standard. New cars are all heavier than old cars. Mostly its safety stuff. Rigid chassis, thick glass, miles of copper wire for...
