    GOOD GUY ALERT..Lee Robinson

I have never used it. From my understanding everything has to be palletized. I also was told I was responsible for unloading from my truck. Just seems like a hassle and I don't think the savings is that much. It is basically truck freight.

    GOOD GUY ALERT..Lee Robinson

Thanks for the reviews. It was Fed Ex, as I have an acct. with them. Postal service has put a $15.00 service charge on packages over 17" in length. Now flat rate boxes are about only thing I ship at PO. Used to use Greyhound for big stuff, but they are a 70 mi. round trip for me.

Where are the a bodies going

I had a 68 Road Runner I bought new. Sold it in 1974 for $1200.00. It was my traveling money to come to Ca. from Indiana. Now a basket case B body is stupid money. It keeps getting harder to find A bodies to part out. The bad part is when these cars go to the crusher they are gone forever. A...

    '71 Dart parts car

It looks very restorable to me. To part out all the structural metal takes a lot of time and energy. Then the problem of people wanting big parts and changing their mind when they find out how much it costs to ship. I have seen sales plummet and I suspect it is Covid-19. People aren't buying...

    Rarest MoPar I've ever seen

The right hand drive K member is sure different. Still has the Dart emblem on the steering wheel. A good example of American cars made all over the world.

    how many sacrificed

Some Mopars die, so others will live. If they go to the crusher, everything is gone forever. More so, with 60-66 cars, as there is not much in the way of reproduction parts. Old Fords are in the same boat. They ain't Chevrolets.

So a customer calls me on the phone....

Or you go to pick-n-pull and ask where the Mopars are. The guy says, what are those?

    340 Dart paint questions

Maybe check a Ford engine blue if you want blue. Ford used several different blues, one might be close enough for you.

    WIW '72 340 'CUDA

In my opinion I would part it out. Not much left of the body. The Ralley dash is worth some money, as well as the pedal assembly and the interior parts. Drive train worth money. You'd have $6000.00 worth of AMD parts and then the labor to restore. As you got more into that vehicle, the bigger...

replacing 76 dart bumpers for 1972 bumpers

Earlier rails have 2 nut bosses for conventional brackets. To my recollection 74-76 rails have one big nut boss for the bumper shocks. You will have to modify your frame rails for that swap. An extra nut boss and a smaller one for the earlier brackets. I don't know how bumpers will fit later...

USPS doing their part to eliminate old Mopar parts

When I ship I try to over pack, mark it heavy or fragile (if it makes any difference). I have horror stories from USPS, Fed Ex and UPS. Sent a beautiful dash pad USPS some time ago. I thought buyer was trying to scam me, package looked like somebody smashed it into a wall. UPS destroyed a...

    Need Help Identifying Trim

The pieces with the dots look like 65 Fairlane Sports Coupe fender moldings. That is the difference between a 65 Sports Coupe and a 65 Fairlane 500. The pieces with remnants of white paint may be 64 Fairlane 500 side moldings. The 3 short spears look like 64 Valiant 200/Signet fender moldings...

I must step away from FABO for a while

Mike, sorry for your loss. My wife and I will be married 39 years in Sept. This has to be devastating, as it came out of nowhere. You'll have to carry on in this sad time.

    Car cover recommendations

Like the other respondent, if you don't get much rain, leave the car uncovered. The wind will blow it all over and wear on the paint. Cover dash, package tray and seats with towels to prevent sun damage. Put a shield in the windshield.

Save one from the crusher or not??

Once these cars go to the crusher, they are gone for good. Just sold a tail light for a 69 Fury III that I got at a local pick-n-pull. I contacted the guy thru paypal. He said he had been looking for a tail light for over a year. Hate to see old cars go to the crusher, not matter the make. If I...

Body panel assembly manual.. does it exist?

There is a leaded area that covers the cowl ends and A pillar area. You'll need to melt out the lead to see how they are joined. Get an AMD catalog, it sounds like you're going to need a lot of parts.

Body panel assembly manual.. does it exist?

There are probably manuals that show individual parts, but not how they attach. If you're planning to remove body panels, take photos and make notes as to how they were attached. Replacement panels should have flanges that will correspond to how they are joined. I parted out a 62 Dart that...

Just bought my first mopar. Looking for help!

Welcome to FABO. This is a fine source for parts you will need. AMD also repops a lot of sheet metal for those cars.

How to free up fresh air vent door?

Spray with a rust penetrant and tap lightly with a hammer. Let it sit and maybe more penetrant.Try to work it back a forth a little at a time. If it is rusted real bad it may not be salvageable.

    ANY PAINTERS USE WATER BASE

You have to have a booth set up for water base paint. I have been out of the trade for a while but I would be really dubious of using a water based primer. In fact, that is the first time I have ever heard of a water base primer. Water base, base coats are pretty much the norm in most parts of...

What's it worth? 1972 Plymouth Scamp

Judging from the marker light on the fender, it appears to be a 71 scamp, unless someone put a 71 fender on the right side. I parted out a 71 Scamp a few years back where someone had put a 72 right fender on it.

What's it worth? 1972 Plymouth Scamp

What ever you are willing to pay for it, is what it's worth. It's a Dart hardtop with Plymouth front sheet metal. If it's a nice car you desire and the price is right, buy it.

1969 Dodge Dart parting out at pick and pull in Antelope Ca.

It's a 4 door. To bad it went to pick-n-pull. Good floors, decent doors. No cluster, deck lid or rear bumper. Front bumper bent, right fender bent. I only saw one door card. I went out there today and have posted a few parts on the forum. It seemed to have nice drip rail moldings for 2 or 4...

More and more disgusted with local used pickup prices...and choice

I have a 73 Chevy LB with a 250, 6 cyl. and 3 on the tree. Bought it in Indiana in Dec. 74. Came to Ca. in Jan. 75. It has 259K miles on it and had to have the engine rebuilt at 198K because a thermostat stuck. This is the only truck I have ever owned. It would be long gone if I still lived in...
