    67 Dart Parking brake handle

Yeah, I took the old one out already and tried to 3D print a replacement, but it's not really strong enough for a full pull and I skinned a finger pretty good when it let go. I did flip the old one over so the one side that's still good is pushed down instead of up, which is a little easier on...

    67 Dart Parking brake handle

Not sure whether to put this in the brake section or interior, but I'll try here first. The parking brake handle on my 67 Dart has been broken in half since the day I bought the car. I'm finally getting to the point of planning to replace it, but had a question based on what I've seen online...

    68 Dart gauge overlays

I've found with just LEDs my black dash lights up nicely. Left the blue filters on and got cool white LEDs. Looks much better than the old dim bulbs.

A Way to form flooring and carpet

I may have to do that. Was just thinking about trying to weigh mine down where I have some issues. I have a custom tunnel in my car that stock carpet doesn't exactly conform to in some places.

    Carpet picture request

Didn't ask for any extra (didn't really think about it either) since I know most run a little large. It was a little close on the edges, but I still had some to trim. Probably about 1-1.5" extra I took off. I took it out of the box the day I got it and let it sit around for a few days...

    Carpet picture request

Well, ended up trying out the cut pile myself. I like it for this setup, but then again the whole car has a little bit of "new" flavor because of the 5.7 Hemi and the T56. I also think I'm glad I didn't go full on black. I think it would have been mighty dark overall and would have shown...

    Carpet picture request

I think part of my issue is that the carpet I put in the first time either didn't fit very well or I wasn't patient enough putting it in. Just kind of sloppy and doesn't fit the contours very well. Don't think I have it far enough forward up the firewall, but ran out of overlap between the...

    Carpet picture request

Now that my 6 speed swap is done I need to replace the 4 speed carpet since the hole for the shifter is in a new position. I've looked around at several of the places that have been mentioned on the forums and have found one that offers carpets in varying colors and materials as opposed to just...

    Suggestions for shoulder belt mounting

So when I got my 67 Dart I got four 5 point harnesses with the car, and up till now I've just used the lap belt portion for my seat belts because I don't have a good place to anchor the shoulders. I know you're not supposed to take them down to the floor behind the seat because of how it will...

Opinions wanted for best bucket seats to install in a dart

I've got a set of seats from a 94 Viper in my Dart and they're pretty comfy. The big problem with them is that they don't lean forward, so if you want to get in the back seat you have to be pretty limber. The seats have a nice little pump up lumbar support built in too. You can just see the...

    Instrument Cluster Bulb Holders

I'm not sure if it's quite their department, but have you checked RT Specialties? They have a lot of those little things. Not sure if they have any electric stuff though.

1968 Dodge Dart sun visors rehab?

I had a local leather shop sew mine up. Wasn't the best job I'd seen, but then again the visors were in pretty rough shape when I handed them off. He glued then down first then sewed them since he didn't have a way to clamp them together with sewing.

    current ignition problem!!!!

Yeah, it was a pain to try to get mine tight, I hear you there. I think I kind of lucked out a little in getting it to hold so far. I was at the point where I had to reach up under the dash to hold the back of the cylinder when I was turning it before. You might think about putting a little...

    current ignition problem!!!!

If it's what I think you're describing, I just had to crank down the outer ring on my cylinder really tight to get it to hold in place better. Those little notches on the inside of the outer ring can be hard to get a good hold on though. I tried some needle nose pliers and I think I ended up...

    keyless ignition?

I bet you could put something together pretty easy, but it might not be the most efficient setup. From an electrical standpoint you could basically just hook up a push button start switch like a race car and all you would need is a relay that cuts the push button off unless a transmitter is in...

    Under dash twin speakers

Just out of curiosity, any reason people are running the twin speakers as opposed to a single? Years ago my brother had a 69 Charger with the center front speaker and we found a new one that fit, I think it was a Pioneer. It's a weird size, but I think they may still make them. I imagine the...

    67 headliner ...puzzled

Yeah, the rear wires hold the last bow in place so you can pull the rest tight without them folding over on you. All those little V's grab the headliner and hold it in place.

Replace the plastic between the door panels

I used some black plastic sheeting that's normally used under a hardwood floor as a moisture barrier. It was pretty heavy stuff, like a thick black trashbag. I also used some butyl rope seal to hold it on instead of just going with tape, not sure why I didn't think of tape, lol.

    diy gauges lenses

I saw they didn't something like this for tailights on a tv show, wouldn't see why you couldn't for a dash. Worst case give it a try and see what happens!

    Rear window regulators

I took mine out of my 67 Dart to tint the windows (though I scratched them up putting them back in so I ended up retinting them in the car, lol). They weren't terrible to get out, just had to pull the tracks out and pop the windows off the rollers. If you can find a picture of the windows out...

    Window track rollers?

Well, looking at RT's site I guess they actually have several of those rollers, just have to figure out exactly which one I need. Anyone happen to have an exploded view of the quarter windows on a 67 Dart with part numbers?

    Fixing a Speedometer??

Yeah, the gear was long gone when I got the car. I'm guessing whoever put it in for me either screwed it up or put in a bad gear just to seal up the housing and keep fluid from filling up the cable. I made sure to check it when I put the new gear in, lol.

    Window track rollers?

Not to hijack too much, but would they have something like the back roller on the rear windows too? It's like a double roller, there's a roller on one side that slides into the channel at the bottom of the rear quarter windows connected by a ball type mount to a second roller that rides in the...

    Fixing a Speedometer??

I know on my 67 Dart when I first bought it the speedo was dead. Turns out the speedo gear in the trans was just all chewed up and not even engaging anymore. Would be worth a shot to check the cable at the trans like mentioned before pulling the dash out I would think.

    Tint removal?

Along the same lines of the previous mentioned adhesive remover, I've used some 3M stuff that was just called adhesive and wax remover that I was really impressed with. I think you could probably find it at any hardware store. Like was said, it basically just turns the adhesive into a gooey...

    Dash Removal

I know this thread is sort of old as dirt, but Chaz, if you're still out there where did you get that trim for your dash parts? Is that a factory thing or aftermarket? Someone cut up my stock plastic trim to put in a modern stereo, so it looks really bad. Is yours a square type radio with its...

To tint or not to tint?

If nothing else the UV and heat reduction is pretty nice. I guess a lot of that depends on where you live. I still need to get the back window done at some point, but didn't know if I wanted to try to tackle that myself or not. My back speakers are getting pretty baked in the sun though, so...

To tint or not to tint?

Here are some pics of my tint job. Did it myself and am pleased enough with it. I took out the front windows and tinted them out of the car since they were nice and flat. Tried to take the rear ones out and do them the same way, but the stupid things were so hard to get in and out I ended up...

To tint or not to tint?

I just tinted mine several weeks ago and have been pretty happy. I live in Kansas, and it can get pretty nasty in summer, so I went a little on the dark side. I ended up using a 20% VLT tint all the way around. The package said it was 99% UV blocking and 55% heat reduction, so that's an added...

    finished trunks

I just slapped some carpet in mine and ran it up the insides of the fenders to give it a little more complete look. I would think you would pretty much just need to break out the cardboard and start making some test panels to figure out what you like. After that just make them in MDF or...
