Your dad must have had some pixie dust fuel additive. I-25 is exactly where I do a lot of commuting. I'm betting slowing down might up the mpg but I still don't see it going from 16.5 to 26 by dropping from 85-90 to 70 mph

The best I ever get with my daily driven slant is 16.5 mpg. I think that's pretty normal with a slant. I never understood that 36 mpg claim from the feather duster ..... unless you're driving in idle the whole way. Every 318 I have ever driven gets better mpg than the slant. The 318...

Thanks for the replies, this is the first Holley I'm going to mess with. So far I'm not impressed how this thing is just pissing fuel everywhere. I'm going to try to rebuild it and use it. I took it off a slant six so the size makes sense. Thanks

So, I'm not really familiar with HOLLEY carbs. How do ID this to find out what CFM and pretty much, what is it? :) Where are the numbers

the manual version doesn't have the arm to connect the kickdown linkage. The auto TQs are much more common than the manual versions. best get an auto TQ for an automatic car, improper kickdown can lead to transmission failure the 72 Manual is 6138 so you need a 6139 which is the same carb...

Soooo is there much difference in flow between a 2 barrel carb from a 360 and a 2 barrel from a 383?? I have a 2 barrel from 72 360 and a 2 barrel carb from a 68 383. Is there much if any difference??

If you are going with a stock carburetor then I would go with a correct air cleaner. I'd go with a stock 1975 4 bbl. Air cleaner. They were not that rare on C bodies. Get on FCBO and find a gent "C body Bob" and you can get a stock lid for a 360 4 bbl. For pretty cheap. Then if you want...

I didnt take in account low altitude ... Locally i have seen cars over carbed, running too rich and generally not running that great but i am also at a mile high in altitude.

I would say they are all too much .....the 6322 is for a 73 400 the 9801 is an aftermarket mopar TQ with 800 cfm and you did say mild. I have seen less carb work better than over carbing it. I would say a eddy 1406 would be better than all the above or an O.E. carb made for a 340

the 4966 is for a 71 440. Tho leaned out, it's still made for a 440 which will move a lot more air. so the 4966 is probably too big.

it does matter if I use studs or bolts ....because I want what the factory put there no less or more :D:D

it should have been little red express trucks only not a ramcharger. little red express trucks were the ONLY time a small block had a dual snorkel otherwise it's pretty much a big block thing because a dual snorkel allows more air to high performance applications...

I am fixin to rebuild a carter AFB number 4312 for a 67 440. I scored the carb as a core from a fabo seller and the engine came out of a 67 GTX. (stock specs and still a strong runner) The carb number comes back for a 67/440 auto California. I would like to know what the "California" part...

i could be wrong but to me it looks like a re-release mopar performance unsilenced unit its just like the 68/9 one that accepts a pie tin but the originals never came chromed but if i recall from old mopar mags ...they offered these new in the late 90s early 2000s
