71 Dart get 408/ Trick Flow Heads....

I've seen that a couple of times, never that bad...fast rate lobes and no inner spring, the stuff I see is chipping on 70% of the lifter edges and many unhappy lobes. The engines always have to come out. That I have never seen before.

    Guess the race part

We use to use a rear oiller back in the 70's..extra oil line to the rear of the block that came off the oil pump.

383 Combo evaluation lets call it

I would just put it back together and enjoy the car... When you guys were over here I don't remember what you told me what you had left to do to the car,but I do remember you have been chipping away at it for too long.. That engine will make some power and should be a blast to drive...enjoy...

    My kind of Racing..

They run off an index..I'm not sure what the index for K is but it would be something like 11.20 or 11.30.. The thing is all those cars can easily run .50 to .80 under that index, probably some more than a full second faster..

    My kind of Racing..

For me it's the sound..That class of car with all the competitors leaving the line at 10000 RPM is the way it should be.. A 277 ci engine that makes 750 hp,what's not to like...:D

Max Lobe Ramp For Solid Flat

.. I think you might be a little mistaken on that point.. ;)

Max Lobe Ramp For Solid Flat

Man.... as the ramp speed goes up the valve closes harder, you better have a very good valve train.. Flat tappet cams with 165 to 170 @200 should keep your hands full and wallet empty for a while...no need for a 1" lifter you can get yourself in more than enough trouble with the stock diam...

**600hp sbm block limit? Or is it bs!!**

In all my years I've never heard about this limit... I personally have cracked several big block number 4 main webs at 850 hp with a heavy crank. But never in my life have I ever heard that a small block mopar will fail at 600 hp..Now stock Ford blocks that's a different story...

Best 440/hemi 3 bolt timing chain?

Way too much resonance transmitted with a gear drive... IMHO You want the best...Belt Drive..!! then pretty much any true roller chain set up "with no seams on the rollers" would come next in my book...

    One Mopar ready for action...

Very Nice...you must be closing the valves pretty Hard to get that power out of that cam. Very nice..!! those are my kinda lobes :thumbrig:

    STRANGE axel twisted?

Back in the day all 30 spline axles would show a bit of twist and then stop... Pretty much every every pumpkin I put a new gear set in had a set of aftermarket axles with the splines (30's) showing some twist. And I've put a lot of gear set's in back then.

what should my car run, with some garage pics!!

Nice little package...there's some pretty optimistic predictions but I just can't see a 10 with what you have... If I were betting money...With those parts on the jug 11.20-11.50 You have nice stuff but with a real converter and a port job it'll fly..!! Cool project..!!

Opinion Time: What do you think it ran?

I'd say 13.50's with those old M/T tires...

440 Source big block aluminum heads

EZ-1's or Victors would be my choices...

440 Source big block aluminum heads

I had one of the very first sets and the intake went something like 250 on a 4.350 fixture with a little bit of love (bit more than a std clean up)... But hell for $700 or $800 for a pair you can not complain... Will they go 330 cfm...anythings posible...:dontknow:

R3 Blocks or "XR" Racing Blocks??

I would think it would be a no brainer...that Ritter block is the way to go. IMHO
  23. Rob R

    Victor or Super Victor Intake?

I would go with the Victor with that cam and cyl head from my experience.

    ptc 9.5

PTC is money very well spent...9.5 std or steel stator are killer pieces. Lane is a great guy and will always bend over backward to get you on the road.

    Best guess on 416 motor

I don't want to be a party pooper but mid 11's is what I'd expect with that cam and compression...poor choice with that old 590/256 cam and using it with the rest of your hardware. kinda like a $2.00 saddle on a $1000 horse. IMHO
