My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

You're right, it goes to the crusher tomorrow....... What a douche. :thebirdm: You've apparently never dealt an east coast car before, so STFU, it really isn't that bad. Let's see, other than light surface rust which sands off pretty damn easy, floors are rust free now and barring a few...

My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

I'm sure he finds it less fun than I do, but he's the one that bought a welder... he had to know this was what was going to happen. :D Really though, he and my mom split up when I was about a year or two old, after that he was always on the road and I only got to see him 2-3 times a year...

My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

Ok, update time! We have a big cruise/cruise in here every year before the fourth of July, so I wanted to get the car ready because it's this Friday. I managed to get plates welded in around all the seat mounting holes, they were the inner holes (beside the hump) on both sides were about the...

My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

Thanks for the compliments. I've always wanted a mopar with white interior, and since I've got to pay for it anyway, might as well have it how I want. I still want a factory looking interior, something all the upholstery guys have told me "looks like s#!t"; it'll never be concours correct...

My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

Well, I managed to get the passenger seat out and Por-15'd the passenger front floor this week, still need to do a little more finish welding and then top coat, but it looks pretty good I think. I was amazed to see how much scale has built up on the bare floors just in the time I've owned...

My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

Drove the car maybe 50-60 miles this weekend, it ran great. I now have a pretty good sunburn going on but I had a good time getting it. :D Got my new tail light lenses in and cleaned up the engine bay a little. The new lenses look amazing; you can actually see the lights now! Hope to POR-15...

My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

Thanks, hopefully it'll be a beauty sooner rather than later. New tail light lenses arrived and so did some por-15, hopefully it'll fight off the rust until I can get the windsheild and dash out so I can fix the cown rust.

My '63 Valiant Signet Convertible Resto

I'm finally starting to make some progress on the Valiant so I figured now might be a good time to start one of these. I've had a bunch of mopars over the years, including a '63 Dart GT Convertible, I sold that car to a friend back in 2002 and have missed it ever since. I found this car...

    1963 Valiant V200 Wagon

I've heard the filtering media inside will sometimes colapse stopping all oil flow thru the filter, not a good thing. I've ran them on a bunch of cars for years before they were deemed "junk", never had a problem once, but it's worth another buck or two for me just to be safe. I'm not sure...

Back with a little progress on the '63 Valiant

Well, did a ton of work on the Valiant over the past week or two and tonight I finally got to drive it to the local cruise in! I parked far, far away from everyone else, but I made it. Pics and another post to come. Months of work and victory, finally!

Back with a little progress on the '63 Valiant

Yeah, gotta love the old Valiants. Can't wait to see a little more progress of yours Mike, that's a swett little car. Well, I finally went out and did a little on the car today, my rear door panels aren't in bad shape, so I wanted to pull them before the car while it sits so they remain that...

Back with a little progress on the '63 Valiant

A little update on the Valiant. It's been pretty hot here so I haven't gotten much of anything done on the car, though I have been resisting getting another project and trying to focus on the Valiant. I've also been formulating some top secret plans for it, looks like I'm going to end up...

Back with a little progress on the '63 Valiant

Well, I haven't been on FABO much over the past month, we just moved and have slowly been getting things sorted out, then about two weeks ago someone busted out the window in my daily driver and stole my stereo and digital camera that I got for Christmas. After having to pay $175 out of pocket...

    NEW THREAD-Why we don't finish........

I vote smart on this one! I made the mistake of buying a car without an engine once about 6 years ago and it was the last time I'll do that again. I had it bad for a Charger and found a top banana '70 Charger R/T 4-speed in a local junkyard, rusty but complete minus engine and trans for $1000...
