    MATS price gouging?

Not trying to be harsh. But did you look at the event info (for dates) online before you went? Most that attend such events will look at the dates, times and cost, well before going to the actual event. I agree that if the person at the gate was not informed as to what entry was and what it...

    MATS price gouging?

So you pay $80 for the 3 day pass and $40 for the car space. That sure seems reasonable. As for the $35 a day for the friend? Why is that when single day tickets are advertised at $30?

I was born in the wrong era!!!!!!!

Being born in 72, yes I got to see some of what the "dazed and confused" life was like. Just wish I would have been a little older to enjoy it. Watch Corvette Summer, Fast Times at Richmont High and the original On Any Sunday... Growing up my dad drove a 70 Charger, mom a 71...

    MATS price gouging?

I am also pretty sure there is a huge difference in the insurance costs from a swap meet and car show to a drag race event with a car show and swap meet. I highly doubt someone just said, "hey let's make the car corral $120 so we can load up our pockets". You have to consider both sides of...

    MATS price gouging?

Finally got time to look at the ticket prices. $30 - One Day Ticket or $80 3 Day - Weekend Ticket. So it sounds like you would have bought a 3 day ticket and $40 for the spot. Not bad. If it included 2 weekend passes you (2 people) would have saved money vs. just walking in for 3 days.

    MATS price gouging?

If it is like most swap meets. The price includes 2 weekend passes plus the swap meet/corral spot. Those events cost money to put on and take a LOT of work by a LOT of people. If it would have sold...would it have been worth the $120? I can see not wanting to pay if, like a LOT of people...

    should pull the trigger

Or that person enjoys cars and builds a car to what he wants it to be? Some people enjoy hunting cars and flipping them without doing any work. Some people enjoy buying a rare car and letting sit in the garage. Some people enjoy hauling a show car all across the country. I enjoy hunting the...

    should pull the trigger

I should clarify. My statement was about our /6 car. I have no idea what the parts, total money value is on the car listed. I do know what I spent on our /6 Duster. I would be asking mid 20's on it, still losing money and not just a little either. But sometimes you have to do what you have...

    should pull the trigger

I know I have been tossing around the idea of selling our 70 Duster (408 EFI, 4 wheel disc, modern AC and lots of other goodies) to finance another build. Even though it is a /6 car I would be asking in mid 20's. I know first hand you could not build it for that. I don't think you could buy...

high impact colors with small engines

Our 70 Duster is a factory /6 car in FJ5 green. I often think, "the person who bought it new paid extra for the color but skimped on hp". There is something wrong about that. When we had the car redone. We fixed that issue!!

    Roadrunner or Not

You are working with someone in Detriot to figure out how to post a picture of the VIN stampings? A picture of all the VIN stampings that you can see, will tell enough that the people that deal with Mopars can answer what you are looking to know. Starting to think this thread is a bit...

TX Members-Mopars at the Motorplex! Ennis , TX

Well we got to the track at 10:00am and looked at EVERYTHING including the show field, swap meet (2 guys selling very little), car corral (a Duster, Dodge Raider and an old truck), and watched one round of passes down the strip. We decided we had seen it all and left by noon. :banghead: It...

    ............Ram Sport.......

Not sure about the "Sport" only in the States? I would sure research before you settle on what the dealer "wants to sell" you. They are nice trucks for sure! My wife got one just about a year ago and LOVES IT!

    Might be a rare find...?

I figured that would be the case since the car had the flat hood, earlier rallye centers and later model seats. But you never know unless you go look! I ran across my 71 Charger in a print ad online. It was in my hometown but I lived about 800 miles away at the time. Called my dad to go...

    Might be a rare find...?

Just looking over the pics. I would guess a 71 318 car. Someone added rallye wheels with 70 style centers and seats out of a 73-74 B body. Probably replaced a bench seat. Also look to see if the car has the standard dash cluster. That is easy to spot and will tell real quick.

    Might be a rare find...?

Looks to be a flat hood (71 hoods had cowl vents at the back of the hood and that does not appear on this hood). Also the shape of the hole does not match the R/T hood cutout. Last, if it was a 440 R/T (only way to get bulged louvered hood), the car would have louvered doors (two vertical...

Sell 383-S Fastback for E-body project??

Unless you plan to do the bodywork and paint. 10k might not cover just that. I have had a hard time finding anyone in the Amarillo area that will touch a car for under 10k even if you disassembled and assemble it after paint.

Sell 383-S Fastback for E-body project??

Running car that you know front to back > project car. Just my .02 If you want an E-body project. I have one that is just getting started and some cash that I plan to spend on it. You could have a project and I could have a running car! Just saying.
