Most people have to put that kind of money in a vehicle almost every year if they keep them. 19 years is a long haul and you are very lucky so far.

Put some wheel bearing grease on the part that is not supposed to be covered and then dip it. Once dry you should be able to easily open up the contact area where you put the grease.

I sold one in much better shape for $40 about two years ago. That one looks like it has a repaint that is flaking and some pits.
