Yes, trunk should be body color. The auxillary fan is most likely a sign the radiator is partially plugged and not cooling good enough. A radiator rebuild or new radiator might be in the cards. I see a dual master cylinder. Has it had the brakes upgraded?

Push the seat down and back on the front edge, then lift. It should come right out. The seat back has two bolts under it behind the seat bottom. My 64 had belts in the back so I'm sure the 65 should have the mount points which will be readily visible when the seat is out.

Is the diameter the same as the other end of the duct at the heater? Finding the duct hoses with the two different sizes is the problem. Those vents are reproduced in plastic and usually available on ebay. I can't find the ducts.
