I need help on a value of this car. No picts....just a description.

65 Barracude, 273, 2 brl, console shift auto. Light blue / light blue color combo. ~ 80K orig. miles. No AC, no PS, no PB. 90% of the paint and primer baked off and surface rusting. roof the worst for rust. pitted, no holes though. Trunk lid trash. very slight accident damage to RR qtr, tail light crushed. Interior 100 complete, but rotted headliner hanging down.

Body has NO rust holes. Floors? don't know....car sitting on driveway with steel rims 2" into the asphalt! Nothing missing off the car. complete. Hasn't run in 20+ yrs., owner was told it had a bad timing chain and needed repair. No work was done and the car was parked.
All stainless present and good. Bumpers poor. cast / chrome parts very pitted. all glass good.

Needs to be flatbeded. Whats it worth???????????? I know I know...worthless without picts....but I don't have any!!!!!!!!!

thanks

The description sounds pretty much exactly like the one I sold for $1800 last spring except mine wasn't sunk into the asphalt and rolled. I think under $1000 total is probably a fair deal, $500 would be a steal.

EDIT: BTW the title came with mine, and a rust free car in NJ is probably worth more than in Colorado.

It depends what you want to do with it.
If you want to drive it I think it isn't worth anything & you would be better off finding a better car.
If you want a parts car the valuable stuff ( bumper & trim) sound mediocre at best.
I don't think anyone will buy it for $800 so just wait it out and $600 will buy it.

Being in NJ and the roof is pitted, it is sure to have substantial rust and pinholes. See how well a magnet sticks different places. It won't stick much to thin steel w/ mostly rust. The frame rails could be rusted thru, and the floors are almost surely gone. Here it would be just a parts car <$500, but perhaps a candidate for restore in NJ since moving a car from CA or AZ to NJ costs $1000.

doesn't sound much different than Jake's car... he gave the old guy $400 3 yrs ago this August.....

Be sure to check the cowl and the A pillars.
